Well, there ya go. You learn something everday. I had never heard of that mg strength. Remember, Valiums come in 2.5, 5 and 10 mg (normally) and people are prescribed the 2.5 and it blasts them pretty good. Considering one tablet would be roughly EIGHT TIMES the strength of that, whew. WOW.

I'm just thinking of the pharmaceutical side and trying to figure out why, from a professional marketing perspective, a company would market a mg strength that intense. The only logical reason I could come up with is tolerance. People really build up tolerance for valiums and they become almost impotent under 15mg after a few weeks. Maybe that's their angle.

Personally, I've done extensive reading and research on diazapam (generic term for valium) and I honestly believe they should be over the counter. If you take valium AND ONLY VALIUM (no alcohol, no antidepressants) .. if you take ONLY valium do you know how you can die from an overdose on them? Suffocation. Because they pour 10,000 of them on you and you are trapped under the pile and can't breath. Other than that, you sleep a long time. People die because they MIX drugs and alcohol. Major badness. Anti-depressants are the biggest killer here. People don't realize how powerful anti-deprssants are and if you are on an anti-depressant, even this board being what it is, I would HIGHLY suggest you avoid 20mg valiums. That being said, everyone's body is different. A famous quote of Alan King, the comedian, from the mid-60's after valiums were invented: "The only time you have a 'valium problem' is when you are taking more than your doctor". It's the truth. It does not get you stoned. It helps you deal with life. Biggest killer in the world? Alcohol, heart disease, cancer, AIDS? NO. Stress. Stress is the biggest killer in the world. Not only killer but it shortens your life if you have no disease. Stress also reduces a body's defenses to defend against all of the above mentioned diseases making it more likely you contract them.

Valiums relieve stress.

Someday, medicine will realize the power of stress to kill. Truly realize its far reaching intense power. And someday, the government will come around and realize this and think about the health and well-being of its citizens. Not in our lifetime, probably. But someday.
