I JUST went through the search warrant/arrest (my boyfriend, not me) process. I can tell you from experience that the cops/feds (whomever decides to pursue it) can sit on it for MONTHS and then come arrest you.
He was arrested on Dec. 15 for something that happened in early fall (internet-related)... They have until the Statute of Limitations expires (7 years I think) to pursue it. It all depends on how big the PD is in her city and if they have anything better to do than go after low-level criminals.
Tell her to get rid of anything she doesn't have a prescription for, anything at all that could possibly be construed as evidence--including computer files.
She'll have to sweat it out a long time to see if anything comes of it. Hopefully nothing will.
