I hope all of you that are saying the original poster should go to prison and be otherwise punished are pushing for harsher alchohol laws, such as complete prohibition. Alcohol is legal and if you all feel it is so deadly why don't you work to do something about it? And don't tell me prison will help. I have an uncle doing 18 years at a Maricopa County jail and he is being treated worse than a dog. He is not going to come out of there any better than when he went in. In fact, we can already see the changes for the worse in him. There is no rehab, no counseling, nothing to help him. He is an Alcoholic, not a criminal and needs help. Making prisoners stay in tents where the temperatures reach over 100 regularly while the dogs get air conditioned pens just isn't right.
I see no one commented on my story of complete police negligence. I suppose most people here think that this would never happen. But it did. I live in a small college town and am a librarian. But because of what that police officer did, I will never be able to trust an authority figure again.
I think we should all leave this original poster alone. She knows what she has done wrong and what she needs to do from here.
