WOW. Drunk drivers kill our husbands and wives and children and sisters and brothers and ruin familes and make people hurt for the rest their lives just because YOU HAD to HAVE A drink and then drive. TAKE A TAXI.
My very good friend mutilated herself - as she was wheeled into the ER they said - oh this one isn't gonna make it. Her arm had to be sewn back on and she was in a coma for three months. She has a 6 inch gash in her head and her liver was cut in half. She was cut open from sternum to the very bottom of her belly. Her intestines spent the night laying on top of her chest because the swelling was so bad they didn't fit back in. Those of us that loved her sat by her bedside the whole time - taking time from work and our familes. We plastered her walls with inspirational poems and pictures and made tapes for her to "listen" to while she slept. We prayed and cried and one day she woke up. A few months later she had learned to walk again and talk again and write and soon learned to even drive again.
Two months after she began to drive she went to a bar and drank - and drove - and wrecked into another car instead of a tree this time. She badly injured two people and left the scene. She still got away with her life and freedom as her attorney argued that the brain injury she suffered the first time caused her bad judgement. She cleaned up that time and is in recovery and married a guy in recovery and semms to have learned her lesson.
How many of us think nshe should have learned her lesson the first tims as she escaped with her arm - her life - her wits?? Yeah - it's hard to swallow that even the toughest lessons go unlearned.
Get a clue - get some help - there's never a reason or excuse to get into a car after drinking. 4 drinks is a lot. Period.
I ignored this thread for a while until Trampy pointed that out. Probably not. Go tell your kids probably not.
Sorry - I just got so mad about this. If it's too graphic I apologize. But this is reality.
