The way it sounds is maybe finally this is what it took. She was looking into treatment anyway and now it will be mandatory i'm sure. She could have a wonderful life when this is put behind her and maybe educate others about addiction and alcoholism. Also surrender to your higher power and be thankful nobody was killed or hurt. I know it will be hard to leave the children for awhile. I do hope a family member can help out. But someday i'm sure they will thank you and you might even be saving one of them from the pure h*ll of alcoholism. My parents,grandparents,& brother are alcoholics and I have seen 1st hand the damage it causes. I do not drink and know that I CANNOT drink. Remember "One is to many and 100 is never enough!" That goes for pills also, if abused.
I do hope you are getting legal representation. It would be great to hear from you in about 6 months of sobriety. You will indeed be a new person! Good luck to ya hun!
