Here is a strange one for you. This happened in NJ. I am not sure if this law is effective in any other states.
I friend of mine was out for the evening. While he was out, the fire alarm went off. Well the fire dept came and there turned out not to be a fire but on a desk the police found a package of rolling papers used for smoking pot, among other things.
Well, in NJ this gave the police cause to search the house and they found a small amount of pot in a baggie behind a panel in the wall.
My friend was charged and you will not believe the fine! Along with probation, he lost his drivers license for 6 months.
This baffles the hell out of me. There was no driving involved at all but in NJ if you are caught with drugs you automatically lose your drivers license.
