Drug addicts and alcoholics can be very good at rationalizing and painting themselves as unfair victims. But this is not a place where you'll get much sympathy. Your story is changing. First you say that you've had alcohol only a few times in the past few years and then you admit to having a high tolerance for alcohol and claim the ability to judge your own BAC level. Gee whiz. That sounds so convincing.
No surprise there, but you need to fool the prosecutor, judge, and jury, not fool us. The ethos here at DB is responsible drug use. I'm sure that there are message boards for drunk drivers to give each other emotional support and trade tips on how to get acquitted. Your drug possession charges are the least of your problems. Three DUIs means you're an alcoholic who poses a threat to everyone on the road. Drunk drivers drive drunk many times before they're caught. I don't believe the story about how rare your drinking and driving is. It doesn't matter if you get the jury to believe it. All that matters is that they caught you driving drunk. I think a third DUI conviction should result in a year of mandatory prison time, seizure of the vehicle, and a 10-year suspension of their driver's license. After three convictions, these people need to be kept off the road. The drug charges practically guarantee your conviction on the DUI charges. I think it's a good thing they caught you before you hurt someone in a car crash. If you think this bashing here is harsh, wait till you get in front of the prosecutor and judge.
