Do Dr's see one as being more or less addictive(MS Contin vs. Oxycontin). I don't want to appear "drug seeking" to my doctor but my father is a pharmacist and he had also suggested that the oxycontin may be less sedating. I'm also taking amitiptylin so between the two I sleep at least 12 hours per day. My husband gets very annoyed. I'm continuing to improve but my pain remains quite consistant. I want to approach this appropriately since I have a Doctor who is working hard to rehabilitate me. Besides the MS Contin 3 times a day I also take 10mg IR sublingual morphine for breakthrough pain (2 to 3 times per day). My last Doctor suggested I go on the fentanyl patch.
I'm really looking for some advice here. I don't plan to be on these medications forever. Is oxy more or less addictive? What about the patch? I'm sick of being so tired all the time.
