I believe that this is an open discussion. This drug that is in clinical trials is an ultra-low-dose naltrexone oxycodone. I think this is a perfectly reasonable response to an open discussion about oxycodone. This is a new form of oxycodone. Isn't our goal to get pain free as possible?
I keep up to date as much as possible regarding clinical trials, because if the FDA approves it, then its gonna be the next greatest thing in the doctor's toolkit, with the pharmacuetical rep's promotion. So I read these things, even if some don't make sense, or they don't make it past the clinical trials. Its more important to be proactive in your physical situation, then to become complacent about your own body. Don't you want to be ready and educated before you are handed that prescription for it? I do.
To respond to Pickledoo, regarding the efficacy of taking oxyc every 6 hours, and the reduction of its pain relieving properties with a 12 hour dosing; my doctor and pharmacist agree that its been discovered that some patients do better with a more frequent dosing, ie my dosing is four oc's a day with oxyir for b/t. So some docs get it. Glad you have one that does.
