I just got some hydro from rxgooddeals 10/660 which i ordered 10/650 instead but anyway, it is andrx brand with a 567 on it, i have never seen them before and they SUCK big time, has anyone else ever had these, I perfer watson then the mallies, but I had never heard of the andrx's why is it that these brands are so much worse then watson's? I was just curious.

I am not Negrodamus by any means,but i forsee and predict this to be a flame-infested thread if there ever was one.So,i'll go first, i guess.
I have had every brand of hydrocodone that they make,of course,the different strengths make a difference.But,if you have a 10/500 mally lortab and a 10/500 Watson,they differ so much,that it should be against the law or something,honestly! This is just one example of comparison,but the reason for such difference is the BUFFERS! It took me years to find out the truth.(questioning literally 100's of pharmacists,and hours of internet research)It wasn't util i found a pharmacist that was a chronic pain sufferer that actually had in-depth knowledge of pain medication,or at-least was the first to admit it.
Also,something else i found to be the truth,and i agree totally.He told me that a 7.5/750 Vicodin was stronger than the 10/325 Norcos i was being prescribed at the time.Had my doc switch me,guess what,they were stronger and lasted longer,much longer! Went from 5 norcos a day to 4 vikes a day.Only thing i increased in was APAP,from 1625mg to 3000mg,still under your daily allowance by 1000mg.
That's why when i see everybody switching to Norcos to avoid Tylenol,i just don't see how they are getting adequate relief without self-medicating(or increasing there dose).Which the truth is they are not increasing to get the extra Hydro which they believe,it is only until they reach the adequate amount of Tylenol to amplify the Hydro that has already been ingested.
P.S. Apologize to ramble,my point is that different brands do make a difference,but also correct Hydro/Tylenol(apap) make a difference as well.

I was told by a very good compound pharmacey 7.5 500,or 7.5 750 work much better for many people.I took the advice and i agree,i had much more relief from my pain.I also have taken every pain medication under the sun and the mallies are the worst to me.I have went as far to wait 5 days untill the watson brand came in stock because every one requests the watson and stay away from the malliies.I told the pharmacey that mallies are very weak ,he said he has heard that the meds are weak from hundreds of people .the pharmacist said they have a contract and havr to carry the mallie brand ,has anyone ever heard of this. What a joke.

The Qualitest/Vintage brand are awful. I got them from a Walgreens once. Terrible. I'd never fill another script for hydro there again.
Now that I order from OPs, I always request the Watsons. They're the best.

I have had Brand Lortab UCB, 10/500, make me feel terrible. Malli, 10/500 A little bit better but not good by any means. Watson?
Pickles: What brand of 7.5/750? How about 7.5/500?

I also got a VERY fresh, factory sealed bottle of 100, BRAND name (UCB) Lortab 10/500 made by Mallincrodt. They are Junk. I had NO IDEA that Mallincrodt made Brand Lortab
I have Watsons and they (Mallies) do NOT stack up. I took them to the pharmacy and exchanged them for Watsons.
They tried that tolerance BS on me, and I showed them my Watsons and said "No. These (Lortab) need to go back to the mfg. They are junk."
Needless to say, they did the exchange. Brand Lortab is terrible!!! Not to mention about twice the size as Watsons.
Norco is different. We all know Watson makes that brand.
I suppose since Tyco owns Mallincrodt, it is not out of the question for them to be "dishonest" in that business sector (for those of you whom are aware of Tyco's unethical business practices. FRY KOZLOWSKI!!!)

I agree 100% about the mallies being worthless,i dont see how the fda gets away with it?now i also agree that watson is the best,but i think that qualitest are very good also.hmm maybe it just has to do w/different peoples body chemistry,dunno

Yes, unfortunately, I have. It has something to do with the wholesaler who contracts with the pharmacy: is someone out there with more experience who can help me explain this coherently? Cause I barely got it and don't want to repeat worrying or wrong info.

I just started seeing this doctor for the first time in the town I live & she (the DR.) put me on Lortab 10/325 &
wrote the script for 90 tabs monthly & she told me to call
her office 24hrs. in advance to renew the next months prescription.Well anyway I don't see what the attraction to Hydrocodone is, the last DR. that treated me precribed 40mg.
a day of Methadone to me that was a much more effective of
a pain killer.I was on Methadone for 4 yrs till May when the other DR. ended our DR.-Patient relationship.This new
DR.said the best she could do(prescribe) was Lortab,so I
quess I should count my blessings as there are a lot of people who are in pain & get next to nothing or are paying
some outrageous price for a hand full hydrocodone 5/650,
(yuk,the thought of all that tylenol makes my Liver ache!!!!

Each phamacy chain has employees who are called buyers. These people then negotiate with the wholesaler. For example walgreens needs to reup there supply of stomach acid meds the wholesaler gives them a break if they fill generic scripts with there brand. that is the first level.
second level-ins company A sends there contoler to watson brand meds and asks for a deal. they get it it. so employee gets break when generic watsons are given. Problem Mallie wants a piece of the action so they go to ins company and offer a better deal so now all employess who use ins company now have to use mallies to get generic rate.

FWIW -- and again body chemistry and tolerance and "X factors" enter into the equation -- I found the Mals to usually be worthless, occasionally of adequate quality. I will never accept them as a generic again -- the quality is too erratic. I probably would also pass on Vintage or Able brands which were mediocre to poor, IMO.
The binders and fillers have something to do with it, as many have stated, but I contend that these aforementioned med-makers somehow skimp on the "active" ingredient or, at best, have careless quality control. I once was 'scripted a batch of Mals that I would swear contained absolutely NO HYDROCODONE. If you're wondering, no, I didn't have a tolerance at the time.
When I opted for the brand-name Vicodin a time or two, as experiments or "tests" more than anything else, I found them to be superior in all regards. Or did I? I realize that this may have been wishful thinking or the power of suggestion; in my imagination, in other words, a sort of placebo effect.
The Watsons are fine and probably one's best bet all in all. (As we know, the brand name is priced outrageously higher, a factor you'll really notice if you're uninsured.)

unfortantly no. it is all based on money, the ins co wants to save as much money as possible. there was once in the matter of 3 months i had to change my stomach med. the first month i got previcid. the next month i had to call the doc to call in protonix because previcide was not choice med of ins co. then the third month i had to call again to change it prilosec. all because ins company agreement with drug company. the reason i had to have a new script called in were each med was a different milligram and thus considered a new script to be dispensed. it was crazy

I must be strange I guess..the Mallies always worked great for me. But I just got some Watson 10`s and am excited to see just how much better they are. Right now I need all the help I can get anyway due to terrible neck, back and shoulder pain.

I would be interested in knowing how they work for you. I have always taken Watson brand. My friend just got some Mallies and he was mad because they were from RXHOTDEALS and he paid a ton of money. I have records and went to another place who is NOT delivering on time. The mallies are white, right? with an M? He didnt give me the number but he said they were oval and small and cost him nearly 300 bucks cuz his doc is on vacation for a month and he was charged like 40 for shipping. Imagine, 300 bucks for mallies so if u have had them work for pain I will pass it on. He is been living in pain for a few days so any encouragement that I can pass along will be good. Thanks.
OH, I have had the ones with the V when I was in Florida (dark yellow) and they stink--Vintage right? Thanks.

I need help! I placed an order with rxhotdeals for the second time about a month ago. I did recieve the order as promised both times. BUT I was charged twice for the second order. They are soooo expensive as it is. I can't get through on the phone due to the constant busy signals. Emails are just ignored! I put this post here b/c my computer wouldn't let me do it anywhere else!!! Any help is appreciated!!!! Thanks guys!

I've had everything but brand (can't afford those!) - what are the ones that are white with little blue specs in them? Qualitest? They didn't seem so bad.
I think the tylenol issue is why the 15/80's seemed EXTREMELY weak to me after years of taking 10/500's. It seems to be the consensus among others who have taken compounded meds.

I agree Watsons are best,then brand,then Mallie. I also agree that the 7.5/500 work better for me at times than the 10/500. It especially works great to rotate them.One time get 10's when that consult runs out do 7.5's, etc. My dentist always writes me for 15 10/500's when I have any work done and my mom &pop pharm gives me the pink brand and they work ok. I have noticed that the mallies give me a horrible headache, I think the true effectiveness of the hydro depends on the amt of acetomen. that it is mixed with.JMO..

I have to admit i'm an M362 or is it 363. Anyhow I always prefered the Mallies, Then watson. I've never had a brand name of any meds so I cant comment on that. What the FDA says about generic compared to name brand is BS, they are not the same we can all agree on that cant we, especiallt when it comes to the OC's.

Worst Brand of Hydro= Those sold by IOPs that REALLY contain CODEINE instead of hydrocodone! It's sad, but there are numerious reports of some iops selling codeine products instead of real hydrocodone. One person posted about their story about failing a drug screen because they had tested positive for codeine while their 'script was for hydrocodone.
I agree one of the best brands (for other drugs too) is Watson.
