I have no idea where to post this, so here it is.
I normally have my meds sent to my office. I have a delivery due tomorrow, however the OP pharmacy somehow put my office address but used my home city on the package. FedEx says this will be considered a 'problem' package and the shipper should call and try to have it held at the hub (which fortunately is semi-close to my home) or it might be shipped back - not good! Why they (FedEx) won't let me make that decision is a mystery to me! My OP is being as helpful as they possibly can and will try and call FedEx tomorrow AM and will try to let me know. (Luckily, we're on opposite coasts).
Anybody ever had this happen and if so, how did it turn out? Thanks in advance!

I just talked to FedEx today about requesting that a package be held at the hub. They have to make the first delivery attempt and then you can make the request. I asked why that was and he said that until they deliver to you, or attempt delivery, the package is still considered the property of the shipper. But as soon as they make 1st delivery attempt, it becomes your package which allows you to make changes to delivery address or request for it to be held for pick-up. As long as the OP makes the request for you, it should be fine.

I have called the hub and requested it be held there for my pick-up and they said that would be fine. That was a day before the delivery was due, too.

Thanks for your help - I know it will work out. (It's going to be a bit amusing to imagine them "attempt" to make a delivery to an address that doesn't exist). I'll call them in the AM and see what I can do. Take care!

I did have this happen to me. They had the right address but the wrong zip code, which sent it to the wrong hub (where I ended up picking it up). I told the FedEx Rep that this was an urgent medication delivery and that I had to get this package in hand. They tracked it right then and there, told me where it was and I picked it up within an hour. I'd call them tonight again and first thing in the morning - before 7:30 or 8:00, as their trucks leave out of the facility shortly after then.
FedEx is so much better at finding their packages and working with you. I feel confident that you'll get your package as early as you need.

I just spoke to a rep and he was so helpful. He said he would do everything he could to have it held at the hub and that I should be able to pick it up around noon. He also said that they would call me. (Guess it's an early lunch from work tomorrow
Thanks for all you help & suggestions!

After my big FedEx fiasco of last week, I now have the direct phone number of the local hub manager, Lenny. He's my new best friend! I can even call him and request 'hold for pick up' at another location, more convenient to me.
FedEx has been super nice since they screwed up. It seems like they'll do anything to get you your package. Even when you get very pissy, they keep their cool.
Oh...and it doesn't hurt to threaten them with 'I'm never using FedEx again! From now on, it's UPS or USPS!'

Once an OP sent my package to my address and my zip but the wrong city (I had changed the shipping address for the first refill, so they left the city from the first shipping address)It made it to me fine, I didn't even notice until later in the day when I looked at the fed ex package for some reason. I saw the mistake and I was all scared, even though I already had the meds, I was like "OMG, what if these didn't make it cause of that!!" Kinda stupid, since I had them, but you get my point! Maybe they only look at the zip!

I know what you mean about UPS. One time I waited all day for an OP delivery. I decided to check the tracking and it showed up delivered at around 5:00PM. So I immediately called CS and was told their tracing department was closed untill Monday, so I'd have to wait untill then for them to talk to the driver. I told them that the package was medication and they were like, "Sorry. Call back on Monday." Thank God the woman who's house it was delivered to took the time to bring it to me. We live in a large community that has a lot of similar street names, i.e. Apple orchard Lane, Apple Orchard Court, Apple Orchard Circle, Orchard Lane, Orchard Court, Orchard Circle... you get it. It's so stupid.

With my first order with the op i am using now some how they put my zip code for my box # and since i live in a rural area the fedex driver knew that was not a valid box # and they called me first thing that morning and told me they had my package but the box # was my zip code and they had it at the hub and i could pick it up that day as soon as i could get there since they knew not to put it on the truck they were very friendly and helpful never had any problems with fedex at all. I went straight to the hub the woman remember talking to me checked my id and gave me my package. I love fedex would not deal with a op that didn't use fedex. When i first started with op's i did have the first op use ups and they don't deliver until after 5p in the day and the drivers are not as friendly and after i have been waiting all day i prefer a friendly delivery guy. And let me tell you how bad airborne is if you ever have an op that wants to use them (i haven't had an op use them but dell does) and everytime dell sends me something by airborne we go round and round for days while my package is riding around in the back of an airborne truck because they don't like to come out in the back woods or they can't find their way here once they even delivered my camera accessory's to the neighbors which we don't have any thing to do with because they are theives (we even believe they broke into our house once and stole a lot of money and guns) we just couldn't prove it was them and the police could find fingure prints either. Airborne delivered my accessory's to them the dumb woman even signed her own name to recieve the package it came in my mothers name so they didn't know who's it was so they thought they were just getting something for free and dell let them get by with it however they did reship my stuff to me and after about 12 calls to airborne and dell the deliver driver showed up about 7p after driving with it in his truck 4 days. Anyway I'll get off my soap box with airborne but just to let you know of what a bad experience i have had with them i can't say enough good stuff about fedex though.
