If an online pharmacy only accepts credit cards as a method of payment I am outta luck. This is really starting to frustrate me. A couple of years ago I remember tht one could actually purchase pre-paid credit cards (master card or visa) from Seven Eleven Grocery stores. Does anyone know if this is still going on? If I remember correctly ID wasn't even required.
I now live in the middle of the mountains and have no idea where the nearest Seven Eleven is or I would call around. If I could get a definate answer as to whether they still do this it would be worth a road trip for me.
Any information about pre-paid credit cards from 7/11 or elsewhere would be greatly appreciated. I've tried a websearch and can only come up with hits regarding calling cards and such.
Thanks.

Try contacting Mastercard or Visa via phone or visit their website. That's where I would start. Good luck.

Fluff,
You can buy them , kind of like a gift certificate. I will do some checking and see what I can find out for you. You might want to consider opening a secured account. You have to deposit money and most companies will give you double the credit line that you deposit. Helps rebuild credit or just establish payment history for someone that has never had credit.

I used the 7-11/American Express "Internet Shopping Card" last year and found it very convenient. When I tried to reload it at 7-11 (2001), was told the program was only a trial and was discontinued. Haven't heard of any banks offering stored value cards for cybershopping since.

Fluff, the answer is easy. Several years ago I had to file bankruptcy(god I wish I had not). But their is a company who will issue secured credit cards. www.capitolone.com. Visit their website I think you may be able to know do this online and transfer the amount of cash needed to back the card. Minimum is $250.00. otherwise it's done through the mail. NO one ever knows it is a secured card. Your limit is the amount you give them. You can give them any amount from $250 up. I started with $500. After 8 months of perfect payments they upped my limit to 750. They will return your deposit if you ever cancell the card-with some interest added on. Hope this helps, parusski

Contact the Bank/Brokerage house or where you do your checking or savings. There are so many new products available, they claim they can get almost anybody in a card.
I also remember a product aimed at parents for their teens called BUXX. I believe it was a preloaded visa/mc that could be recharged though a deposit. I am not exactly 100% sure how it worked.
Is this an age or credit score issue? If it is a credit score issue a secured card may be the way to go. One you can order from your OP, secondly you can build your FICO # back up.

Fluff, a lot of banks now have changed their ATM cards to Visa ATM cards--you can use it wherever VISA is accepted, but it comes from your checking account just like ATMs. Check with your local banks to see if they have this.
Good luck.

chaos---have you, or anyone else here, used these prepaid cards to order from an international OP? Any complications? I'm having a problem with www.interpharm.cc since they just changed to where you can only order through WU with CC and not with cash at a WU station. I shredded all my cards due to uncontrolled spending and getting into debt

Go to CVS pharmacy. They got them. I got one a few months ago and still use it. It takes up to $500.00 and you can go back and put more $$ on it whenever you like. Its called Master card Free and Clear. you can use them anywhere. Try it, You'll like it.

My favorite is the National City Gift Card. Up to 500.00 for 2.95. When it is done throw it away and get a new one!! By far the most inexpensive I have seen!!

Sorry if this has already been said, I haven't scrolled all the way down this thread yet. But you can go to www.mymccard.com and they will tell you where to purchase them. The only place I've bought them is RiteAde pharmacy, but I'm sue there are others. Also, these can be reloaded (for a total of something like $500.00/time) and only cost like $5.00 each time. Of course there is also about a monthly fee of about $4.95.
Anyway, check out the website and get all the logistics, it's pretty easy and I've been doing it for the safety reasons as of late - meaning if there's no extra money on the card, they can't double bill you.
PM me with q's.

2 things to look at
1. Try www.inonecard.com they are a pre-paid master card.
From past experiences make sure that you write or print out everything (passwords, pin etc..) They charge you 9.95 for the card and you have to put something down on the card to get it. I see them in McDonalds and 7-11 stores next to the ATM's.
The customer service sucks though.
2. search the web and type "prepaid credit cards"
Good luck hunting.......
