This is just another bogus PR tactic by massive pharmacutical firms, to convince Americans they are empathetic to all those suffering. Also that these big giants are willing to pass down a few free samples. Hay the folks could get the free samples if they could afford the doctors visit.

these are not bogus. I have recieved help from many of these companies. You call send the Necessary info with doctor's approval then they send three months worth of medicine to your doctor's office for pick-up. Very easy but it tacke about 4 weeks from beginning to end.

if you go to www.rxhope.com and register with them, you can download the forms yourself and be one step ahead. I did this for my Effexor and Depakote when both me and my husband were out of work. I got them, but it took a while. The Depakote was the wrong kind, so be sure what your doctor fills out on the form as for what you need is right.
Good luck! The forms vary from company to company as does the documentation. The documentation for the drugs I got was minimal.

I wasnt refering to the plan being bogus, just the idea that the pharmacutical company are thowing us a bone. This is an excellent way to aooid the issue of price limits, and legalization of imported meds(just like we do with every other consumer good(s), ie cars, boats, clothing, food, eletronics, or anything else that comes out of Hong Kong, China, Korea, Thailand.

Yeah, after paying full price for Effexor and Depakote, I kind of feel that way. they are throwing me a bone. But...that bone helped me out a lot! Those meds are so freakin' expensive (even at Costco)! And, when you're jobless, you have very very limited income. My state does not have an adult Medicaid program unless you are disabled or on Medicare. My kids were on Medicaid for a few months, and it saved our butts. BUT, my meds were still a hardship on us. I had to cut down my doseage because of it to be honest. I'm glad the companies have those programs in place for those who need it. The only part that sucks is that it takes so long. But, it does work, I can attest to that!

I just had to add to this post! I used to receive assistance from the company like this! I got my meds free sent directly to the doctors office for me to pick up!! It is a very good thing if:
1-you can afford the doctor visit
2-you get lucky enough to have to doc prescribe the meds you are requesting
3-you can wait the couple of weeks to receive the meds if approved (about 3-4weeks is average)
So there is my opinion! Feel free to PM me if you have further questions!
Wishing Pain-Free Days Ahead,
Kelly
