I was given Vicoprofen (generic) last spring for a work injury, had exactly the same reaction, and, like you, was used to supplementing hydrocodone/apap preparations with OTC ibuprofen. Can't explain it, but after a while (maybe three or four days)the problem subsided and the Vicoprofen was fine.
