During a physical exam a month ago, I asked my PCP about my hemorrhoid condition. He explained that bleeding was not an "advanced symptom", and that it didn't warrant surgery. He recommended I use Prep-H and take IB-600's (Motrin) as needed for the pain.
Ibuprofen does not cut it for me; and frankly, I'm contemplating surgery, but I hear hemorrhoid surgery has an awful recovery period. Regardless, I need stronger medication, and soon!
Since my doctor is a stingy, apathetic stiff, I'd like to try a domestic OP for a better script (and eventually a better PCP). The only problem is that I don't have documented records of this condition that would be needed for my consultation. It was only a side conversation-- one of many things we discussed at my physical exam.
Could someone please illustrate what my next step should be, and also what kind of meds I should expect from an OP? Additionally, if you know an OP who is more knowledgeable about hemorrhoids, that suggestion is more than welcome.
I'm obviously open about this. You can PM me, but if it would help the other users of the site, feel free to post your response as well... either is fine.
