I have come to believe that most dentists are a total rip-off. I once went in to a well known dental group to merely have a cap [corwn] glued back in place. I have a mouth full of caps and permanent bridges from when I had lots of insurance and, over the years, have had caps come off for various reasons. If the tooth and/or the cap have not been chipped or damaged they can merely glue it back on. First no matter what you come in for, they want to do a full-mouth x-ray. Then after sitting a the dentists chair for 30 minutes I asked a passing assistant what the hold up was. He returned to tell me that they were going to replace my cap. I said, no way you are going to glue it back on. The dentist was a bit peeved but he glued it back on. I have yet to go to a dentist that couldn't find additional work. I just tell them to do what I came in for and leave it at that. They will milk your insurance and you for whatever you'll allow them to.
