I just by accident ran across this thread thinking it was about something completely different! Now that I am here I am going to let ya'll in on a few bits of info I never see revealed about these "Random Rapes of One's Constitutional Right to No Illegal Search and Seizure" that employers call drug screening!
~First of all let it be known that you do have the right to demand a Blood test instead of a Urine sample on the grounds that you find it personally humiliating to urinate into a cup!( I am serious)! You make it very clear that you are in no way refusing to be tested! Only the manner in which it is done! It was a convenient cop-out for the US Supreme Court when they ruled that a private Co. is not bound by the Constitution requiring "Probable Cause" to Search & Seize ! If you do not want to be tested without probable cause you do have every "Right to quit the Job"! But who can afford that solution? Not many of us! Except for our children while at school, the Govt can not force you to test without ProbCause! Think about this though; Not Even Our Presidents or Members of Congress are subjected to drug tests! Can you believe that the most powerful positions in the world do not require a drug test! Only us PeedOns, Huh?
~So, like I said, You make it very clear to your employer that you want to take the test but that the urine extraction is morally reprehensible to you!(sounds strange but it works for most but the most hard of Hard-A$$e$) No employer wants a lawsuit because an employee did Not refuse a drug test only the method! They will capitulate!
~Now, when you get the OK for the blood test method you have half the battle won!(except for those who do smoke MJ)You see, most drugs that they are searching for in these screenings are gone from your blood in 24 hrs. All are gone in 48 hrs. EXCEPT MJ & LSD(I do not know about Benzos at all)! However, even MJ & LSD are reduced to a traceless amount in the blood after 48 hrs in all but, the heaviest users!They also look for the markers of high Carb drinks for drug masking in urine! That is why they want your urine! It shows past use for weeks afterward because as you may know most drugs lodge themselves in our fat cells and are released slowly over time and where do you think the body dumps these "residues"? In your Urine!
~Drink plenty of water! Get some brisk exercise(walking is Good!)! Take an aspirin(unless you are allergic or hemophillic)90 minutes before the test!(thins the blood)Get a good nites sleep if you can! If you work for a Co. that likes to spring random, on-the spot in-house tests, still demand the blood test and offer to report to the medical facility of the Employers choice at once for the test!
~I think there should be an outrage over testing w/o prob cause! They are not testing you to see if you have a drug problem that you are bringing to work! No, they are peering into your PRIVATE TIME, what you do when you are not at work! Hell, a person can go out everynight and get drunk! Then come in to work hungover and still pass a drug test but, be very much a hazaard to those around them because of there diminished capacity! But, a person who smoked a joint at a party on Sat nite can lose their job because of a urine test given the next Friday! Cocaine is gone in 24-48 hrs unless you took near fatal amounts but is still risky with the urine test! Opiods, however can linger in in the urine for 72 hrs or more! Benzos I know not about because I never use them! They make me feel drugged! I stopped dabbling in any drugs(legal or not) long ago because of this testing biz and I really did not need any of them( although it sure would be nice to occasionally smoke a quality Doob!)I Could not afford to get fired from an Engineering job over a joint! Now, I only use Codeine as necessary for Chronic pain issues! Depending on the employer, even if you have a Script, you can still lose a job for testing positive for it! You should know Your Co's policy! The blood test is the way to go ya'll! Same goes if you are pulled for DWI! Never blow into their machine ! Make it clear to them that you DO Not refuse to be tested only it must be with a Blood Test! It can save your A$$! Even though I think it is very unfair to test someone without probable cause! The blood test is reasonable because it tests real-time use which IS fair! NO ONE Should Use Drugs At Work, School, Driving a Car or Machinery and most importantly While Caring For Children!!
