Flaming/Flame Wars
Flaming is reacting to someone's board posting or PM in a hostile manner by publicly chastising the person or bombarding the person with nasty posts or PM's. Flaming may occur to users that engage in behavior that violates what is considered proper board netiquette. A flame war occurs when two or more users flame each other in an escalating manner that threatens to continue unabated. If you notice a flame war developing just notify the moderator or adminitrator and let them handle it. Do not take part in flame wars. If you do you will be banned even if you did not start it :-)

Recently my local doctor found out somehow that I had a prescription through an online physician & knew all of the dates of my refills as well as the name of the Pharmacy. It was definitely my local doc that did the search and obtained the information. In fact, the online pharmacy is the one that told me she (local doc) contacted them to advise them that she was treating me as well. (Imagine my shock!) Of course her idea of treatment is 20 Darvocets a month to treat a painful condition resulting from nerve damage. The only way the Darvocets help is when I take 1 along with 1 hydro, which is what I was being treated with by the online doc. My (former) local doc is very conservative about writing scripts for narcotics & obviously checks up on her patients that require monthly scripts. She tried me on 15 other medications before she finally gave me Darvocets.
How is this possible? There must be some sort of national database linking all pharmacies? If so, what patient information links them together, name, social security number, address, or what?
I really don't want to mention the OP since I am positive they had nothing to do with it. I have done business with them for 2 years and they are one of the best around. As a matter of fact, there is no way they could have contacted her because I never gave them her name or even used records from her office. Also, they definitely ship to Arkansas & I have not ever had any problems with that issue. I will say that the online pharmacy is from Pennsylvania. So it can't be just a statewide database.
Oh, I would like to also add that I have never tried to file any of my online medical expenses on my insurance, so that can not be the link either.
Anyway, there is some sort of database (at least one that doctors can access) & I am determined to find out more about it. We all would benefit from finding out more information on this topic since it could affect anyone else in my same situation. Don't we have a right to know? Maybe if someone is a personal friend with a doctor, they could casually mention this topic and find something out.
FYI: I have posted this on the VIP board as well, hoping to get as much info as possible.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
