DURING MY VISIT AFTER I SHOWED SOME MED. RECORDS AND SCRIPT BOTTLES I HAD FOR HYDRO - OC - ETC... I EXPLAINED I WAS TRYING TO CUT BACK ON THE STRONG MEDS. - THEY KNEW IT WAS A * F - UP * AND STILL DID THE LECTURE ,ETC... - THIS IS WHAT YOUR GOVERMENT GIVES YOU WHEN YOU WANT TOO CUT BACK OFF SCH.3 -HYDRO & SCH 2 -OXY - PERC. PAINKILLERS - THIS IS MORE COMMON THAN YOU THINK - IN THE U.S. NOWADAYS!!! CHEESE

thank you to everyone who has given me some advise on this and sorry if i started some kind of online war... i appreciate all the help though. the stuff i ordered was tramadol and nothing else. what the detective claimed was that it was a codeine based product from europe. but i never ordered from european op.. im worried that my landlord will be dragged into this if there is some investigation. that would not be good.
can someone please tell me how to find a good lawyer, what kind of lawyer and a lawyer who will fight for you and not make deals behind your back? also, if i tell an attorney something, does he have to report it? for instance if he says that importing tramadol is illegal and i say i did do it, then does he have to tell the authorities? i would like to know what my rights are and as pointed out on one of the posts, dont want to be dupped into saying something stupid. thanks again everyone.

That's a GREAT question!! Everything you discuss with your attorney is totally confidential! Doesn't go the same way with law officials,or DEA, They will tell you anything, in order to get you to talk, if they tell you that there will not be any charges pressed as long as you tell them want they want to hear,, DON'T believe them.
I still wouldnt sweat it, afterall they shouldn't have any records of you recieving codeine products, if all you ordered , was tramadol?
I don't see why everyone thinks this doesn't happen, and this is a far-fetched made-up story? I have read numerous posts here, about seizures, and getting visits from the multi antenna suvs!!

thanks TLT, i appreciate the support and advise. If i appear to be sweating its cause the detective did show up at my door. i went thru the list of seizure posts before and i only saw a few people who say they were directly contacted/arrested for an order and with everyone saying dont sweat it, then what the heck is he doing at my door? do you have an idea of how i can find a good attorney? i dont know anything about law or lawyers. is there a web site with a list of good attorneys? thanks again!

1. Did the detective say he/she is going to return?
2. Have you ever ordered Overseas?
I would think they would not have a case against you if you never ordered overseas. When the DEA came to my home and left me with a warning they said they were going to write it off as a mistake/ I never ordered the products.(This is after I told them the whole truth and mothing but the truth) Of course if they were to pursue my case they could have easily pulled my cc receipts... I GOT LUCKY
I am not sure why you would need a lawyer... If you did not order the meds they will not be able to pull any records!
Good luck and ignore the people who are not helping you.

Great advice hopeful, (Great name too),, Anyways badknees, I would not get an attorney at this point, I can understand your concern, If someone from DEA came to my door, I would literally be in panick!! If you're absolutly positive that you are in the right, don't sweat it, they will probably just go away. If they do come back, tell them up front that you have done nothing wrong, and then get an attorney.
I would suggest if you do get an attorney, to just check out your local yeller pages!!

A good one at that. Included with the costs you get free document review, free help with letter and business document review, etc. Also they do a free will when you sign up. I used to scoff at the concept, but after MUCH research, I cannot recommend it enough. I am covered every day, every hour, every minute by a hotshot Chicago law firm (PM me if you're in IL an interested in which firm it is).
Now, Caramello brought up a REALLY GOOD POINT last time I brought this up, about people flocking to this service eventually speeding up the process of requiring "legal insurance" for everyone down the road. That is a really good point. Having weighed that very important point, I still feel much more comfortable being covered at all times. You get the cards to carry to present to officers, agents, etc. They will even help fight traffic tickets or anything like that. Also, you CAN get the service with a PREEXISTING legal situation like you have now, they will NOT exclude you because of that, so don't let that scare you away. (Unlike Life Insurance as many of us know)

Sonick - thanks for that great info. I had no idea such a thing existed. I would also suggest to BADknees that most areas have a legal services system that usually bill based on a sliding scale. These are usually lawyers that really want to help people (in any kind of situation), and they are not in it for the money. They may be able to give you a consult if you feel it is necessary. Also, under law, if you are arrested, you are entitled to an attorney - a Public Defender. Each state has one, although they may have a different name. I do know that if that be the case, the more you help yourself by researching the law, etc,. the more help you give your PD, the better off you would be. This is because they are extremely understaffed, and the caseloads are astronomical. Every state now is in a severe deficit situation, and every agency has had to bite the bullet, take cuts, etc. Just some ideas that came to me. Best of luck, and keep us posted if anything else happens.

Thank God I am off of codeine. It is weird but for over 2 years the drug controlled me and now I am back in control. After 18 days of being Codeine free I feel like I am my old self again. 2 months ago I had suffered a major fall and had a cast on my foot and hand (second break/foot) and I was sort of excited about all the pain meds I was getting from my real surgeon (sad). I really think when the DEA showed up at my door and saw my broken bones they sort of felt like I was somewhat legit in my pain. I was taking Vicodin/Percocet/codeine nonstop. I am lucky I did not die. I am a major Klutz and if something happens again I am going to take Tylenol plain old Tylenol. I do not want to get my mind wrapped up in drugs anymore. I know there are very many people on this board for legit medical reasons. I was not one of them. My friend mom who is suffering from Breast Cancer has been crossing the border/Canada to get meds she can afford. YEA!!! A very long time ago I started a subject asking how long people will order Overseas. It always was in the back of my mind it had to end some day for me by either by getting caught or never quitting. I got caught I had to quit.....Oh well sorry about the rambling. I find it theraputic to talk about this. So few people in my life know what is going on. Good luck BadKnees You will be OK!!!

Good for you Hopeful41. It sounds like you are making a good decision. People are challanged to make decisions based on differant types of circumstances everyday and not everyones choices are the same. You are at a crossroad and making the right turn. Good luck to all.

I would tell them just nothing but "I did not order anything". Fact is that someone sent sonthing to you.
Tell them you did not order. If they have no evidence for your ORDER you cannot be punished at all.
Ther must be an evidence, but how coud they get it when the oder script is somewhere in anoteher country?`
So your untouchable by following those rules!

It sounds like in your case it is a case of mistaken identity that is why I gave you the advice of talking to a lawyer. I know I would if I were in your situation. A thing like that could ruin someone's reputation and life. Sonick gave you some good resources. But also there should be some decent local attorneys in your area, and a lot of them do not charge for an initial consultation just to find out if any more will come of this. Good luck to you and for the record I totally believe your story.

The only thing they can do is tell you to produce a perscription. If you don't all they can do is keep the drugs.
