Sonick - thanks for that great info. I had no idea such a thing existed. I would also suggest to BADknees that most areas have a legal services system that usually bill based on a sliding scale. These are usually lawyers that really want to help people (in any kind of situation), and they are not in it for the money. They may be able to give you a consult if you feel it is necessary. Also, under law, if you are arrested, you are entitled to an attorney - a Public Defender. Each state has one, although they may have a different name. I do know that if that be the case, the more you help yourself by researching the law, etc,. the more help you give your PD, the better off you would be. This is because they are extremely understaffed, and the caseloads are astronomical. Every state now is in a severe deficit situation, and every agency has had to bite the bullet, take cuts, etc. Just some ideas that came to me.
