This is one I haven't read about on DB, and I need help. If anyone has had or heard of a similar experience, please post or PM me.
I ordered from Destiny 1/20 - it was delivered today per USPS tracking and signed for by me. Really fast shipping and wonderful customer service on Destiny's part. BUT I DIDN'T SIGN OR RECEIVE ANYTHING!! I was here all day and even watched the mailman put junk mail in the box.
I obviously can't contact USPS until Monday. Should I even bother? Could this be a diversion? Hey, I'm scared. Even if it went to the wrong address, how would someone know to sign my name? Last time I picked up registered mail at the PO, I had to give them my driver's license and sign before they gave me the package.
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. I'm a basket case right now! Thanks!

That is scary. They do ask for ID at the post office, but mailman usually don't. At least I've never had on ask me for ID. I think, depending on the neighborhood, I might ask my neighbors first. If someone else got it, I would think that it would be nearby. Good luck.

Fluffy,
You're saying that you tracked the USPS # on the Internet and it shows the package was delivered and signed for today?? Yikes. Don't like the sound of that at all. Are you friendly with any of your neighbors and do they know you receive these packages?? I'm not sure what I would do if I were you.
Comments anyone else?? This is a weird one.

I totally agree with you about the neighbors Legitimate. Some shady neighbors of mine signed for and took a very important package, and I never got it back. You can't file a complaint with the USPS if you, in any way, are in violation of any law. It sucks, but if someone took it and doesn't give it back there is not much you can do.

That's what I thought Poohbear. If someone has signed for that package it's history.
I wonder if he could mention it to his mailman? Then again, might be best to drop it. What a dilemma.....

Thanks for replying, you all (Texas talk)!
I agree with Pooh. I've never been asked for ID at home - just have to sign before getting the package. But how would someone know to sign my name? Or I guess they could scrawl something, and the mailman would give the package to them?
Legitimate, yes, I did the tracking thing and it said it was delivered at "such-and-such time" and signed by "me." That's why I'm scared! I should have never bothered to check the status tonight!
I'm friendly with a few neighbors, but no one knows I order meds overseas. If someone signed and wants to keep the contents, I guess that's better than other alternatives. It's the other alternatives I'm worried about. And I just don't know whether to pursue this with USPS Monday. I don't want to get the vendor or me in trouble. I did write Destiny and asked them if they ever heard of this and if they used the right address. Also asked them if I should just call it a loss and reorder. They certainly did their part and did it quickly and professionally. It's just the delivery part that's screwed up!
And it's the signature thing that really scares me. Then again, sometimes other delivery people leave stuff without a signature even though they aren't supposed to. If so, do they scan that a signature was received into their little hand-held device and just leave the package?
So I don't know - maybe it was delivered to another address. The tracking was just too specific and is worrying me. I'm trying to rationalize all this now and want to know what options, if any, I have.
My biggest fear is it was delivered to some self-righteous thief who decides to open it, doesn't want it, and calls the MIB. I'm too old for all this anxiety, and not getting my order (when it's obviously someplace nearby) really accentuates all this!
I will keep you all posted if you're interested. If you don't hear from me soon, I'm you-know-where.

I am definitely interested in the outcome of this so please do let us know. Keep in mind that if a self righteous person knowingly opened a package that didn't belong to them they are breaking the law! Try and not fret over this, it is possible it was mailed to the wrong address. Our UPS guy is always dropping packages off for us when we're not here when I know they are supposed to get a signature. I've often wondered how they handle that....
Good luck and don't worry yourself to death over this

Thanks Legitimate and everyone,
Your replies will help me sleep tonight. It's DBers like you that are an absolute inspiration and help to me.
I understand if someone keeps my package, they are breaking the law. But I think I'm not too innocent either!
So far, so good. No knocks on the door yet! Right now I just hope whoever has my order enjoys it and doesn't rock any boats or, preferably, returns it to me.
I will keep you updated. Thanks again - after reading all the replies, there are so many things that could have happened, regardless of USPS tracking. I hope there is a simple explanation, but I'm not sure I want to ask USPS to explain. Oh well, I'll worry about that on Monday.

Fluffy,
that is scarey that someone would sign your name. Its kinds of a scarey thing to try to follow up on too because of what it was that you ordered. I hope you get it figured out.

When a package is signed for, the receivor must sign a little card and print his/her name on it as well. Request a copy of this card and I think you should be able to do this without having to file a complaint or raise any eyebrows. This might help a bunch.

The samething happened to me, I wasn't at home and the mailman left it next door, But my neighbor signed for it and had it for 2 days. I had tracked my order and it had been delivered but I didn't know my neighbors last name. What I did was ask my mailman about it because he delivers all packages as well. He told me he left it there bacause it wouldn't fit in my box. I was like you so many things went through my head.
good Luck,
Kenny

I once had a neighbor sign for me for a ups package. He forgot he had it and held on to it for a week, then finally said oh yeh you have a package. It was just some bath and body items so I did not sweat it. Thank goodness because he was a cop. Ask several of your neighbors if a package was sent in your behalf. Also did you say they signed your name? That is not legal, so that would worry me. They have to sign their name if they have it. Let us know how this turns out.

Scary, scary, scary!!! I have had a neighbor sign for a regular UPS package about a year ago (not meds), but they actually signed their own name. Why would they sign yours?!?! My neighbor (across the street whose addy is opne digit removed from mine, honest mistake, I guess) phoned me that same day and brought over my package. If I were you, I would ask a few of your surrounding neighbors (esp. if they have an addy close to yours...maybe across the street?) if they signed for a package for you. It may just be an honest mistake...I sure hope so! Let us know what comes about!

Well, the story now has a happy ending!!
I received a phone call about 15 minutes ago from a neighbor a couple of streets over. She just now checked her mailbox, and my package was in it with her mail. No one signed. The slip on the package required a signature, but I guess USPS is getting sloppy like UPS and others sometimes are. Now that I have the order safe and sound, I'll give USPS the riot act tomorrow - wrong address and no signature!
Everything is intact, even the bonus meds. I am so relieved. Yesterday I think my imagination just went wild after reading the USPS tracking info.
Thank you again, everyone. I appreciate your help and concern.

Good to hear that there is an explainable ending...a wrong address. It's always nice to know that there are still some honest people in the world!
