Order Caution question!!
      #38201 - 11/03/02 11:36 PM

I have questions about how you guys would handle things if your online order were siezed. If you were using a domestic supplier(i.e. speedrx) and you recieved one of those "petition or disregard"/siezure letters what do you do??

Is simply burning or throwing the letter away and counting the package a loss enough to avoid legal problems?? What would happen if you accepted a controlled delivery of a shedule IV or V medicine??
Also if ordering from a domestic supplier(not overseas) how often would you need to sign for the package??

I have a situational anxiety disorder, but my doctor is one of those "just deal with it" people who is more concerned about sickness that can be treated with anti-biotics. I am not looking for any scheduled III and under, just xanax for situational anxiety and just want to cover myself legally.

Thanks *bigtime* to everyone for any input they have!!

If you get a letter, throw it away.

Unless you've had 1,000 pills seized or something, they aren't going to waste much more than that one stamp on you.

Before you throw that love letter away, check with the pharm involved. Many of them will replace your meds if you can fax them a copy of the letter as proof that your order truly was seized. Other sites offer a 50% discount on your next order, if you feel like rolling their dice again. Certainly check with the OP concerning their policy regarding seizures, and even if they say 'tough luck' on the site, e-mail them about it anyway. At worst you'll get rejected. At best you'll have a replacement package in the mail at no extra charge.

Hmmm... a seizure letter is an informational warning that you have violated some import laws and regulations,IMO there are no further legalities(excluding mass quantities).
If you accept the pkg,you get your meds.(I dont quite understand this question). As far as signing for the pkg, that depends on the circumstances. There is no number one rule to follow. Hope this helps??

One other point of clarification -- you said that speedrx is a domestic (not overseas) supplier. Actually it's no secret that SpeedRx is located in South Africa so unless you're South African then it's probably not domestic for you. Hope this helps...

No, not South African I am from the USA. The reason I ask about the signing for packages is because I have read about people being busted when they signed for anabolics. Had agents bust into their house and seize everything for evidence: computer etc...Anyways I have read about it happening on multiple occasions. Anyways from reading that I am wary to sign for anything even if its only schedule IV or V.

They have to send you the letter if they take your meds and if you read it you can protest and go to court but i dont know anyone that has. Also i have heard a lot of "urbun legends" about people being arrested but i have NEVER been able to find one where it really happened. Unfortunately a lot of people just got to put thier 2 cents worth in and thats about what its worth most times when you hear the "horror" stories. Never been able to verify even one . Kinda like the guy who "saw the sniper" in a white van. Remember that one. i have persued a couple of incidents where people claimed something just to "be a part". everyone wants to be a star.

cpmier makes a good point about "urban legends" and everybody putting in their "2 cents worth". So now here's mine.
Many years ago I was a police officer. During that time I made a few friends at the federal law enforcement level, including two DEA personnel. I am still friends with both men. We have had discussions about the issue of OP's and both are of the opinion "who cares"----as long as someone is not getting sched I, II, (or sched III in really large quantities-which may indicate an intent to re-sale). Both agents know I get soma, xanax and valium from op's. Both have said if they were to "review" my case they would recommend against investigation-not because I am a friend-BECAUSE they have enough to worry about with crack, cocaine, heroine...........I do not know any customs people but my two friends are aquainted with a few. According to them three issues are involved when it comes to the customs people: Many of the customs people do not care if it is not a sched. I or II 2. Many are clueless anyway, and 3. All are overwhelmed with the number of packages they see everyday.

I have received 5 seizure letters in 3 years. In the garbage they went and that was the end of it. Who knows if this will ever change, but when has our government ever improved upon anything it does. I just no longer worry about it.

Good luck.

hey all, yea when I just came back a few weeks ago and saw some thread posted by the guy who supposedly was "busted", entered ,searched and seized, yada,yada- soemthing seemed "fishy" about that- it was definately a first I've seen on THIS board- and I have never heard of it happenin' as long as the order falls in the "personal use- 90day supply" category. I've had 4 or 5 "love letters" and nobody has kicked my door in yet! I read it real fast JUST IN CASE there have been some changes made in the laws that I'm not aware of- then I tear it up(depending on where it came from and there re-ship policy as someone mentioned above) and toss it in the can- if its Winter, I'll use it to light the fireplace! Chunk- don't worry - I'm in the same boat and waitin' on a CIV now and its runnin a little late, but I look at it kind of like rollin' dice as Novashock posted- I felt forced to go out on the limb because of a messed up healthcare system and a uncaring butthole Doc, I made the decision, I'm takin' the risk so if the dice come up winners- great! If the numbers or the "letter" says I lose, well then tommorows' another day! I have had MANY more wins than losses so I feel like the odds are on my side. Hope this eases your "anx" a little. PM me if you want- Hey darkanrahl- its always good to see posts of real life experiences on the board- another old member last year posted that he had a friend who was a customs man also and his view was just about consistent with what you were saying- good post- Later,

Doesn't anyone recall the seizure of 900 meds from a woman in Montgomery, Alabama about 2 or 3 months ago? It was posted by DB themselves and there was a link to the actual newspaper article. It was the worst horror story i ever read, but fortunately, it was the ONLY one that anyone could ever verify. There must have been thousands of views/hits, so I'm sure it scared the heck out of lots of us! It was a controlled delivery: sheriffs deps, police, narcs, the whole shebang - that poor woman, she had bought doloxene (darvon) and tylenol 2 from AccessMeds. 900 no less - but who's gonna sell weak stuff like that? must have had lots of bad headaches, but obviously no threat to society to have the entire state of Alabama burst into her home with a search warrant!!!!!! other than that - never heard anything quite so bad and hope not to in the future! personally speaking, have had one seizure out of many orders and it was replaced. it doesn't seem like much now, but it did scare me at the time and i only felt relief when the other orders i placed starting coming in.

Have you ever talked with someone on these types of forums for like 6 mos. or a year and they suddenly disappear...

I wonder where they go?

The people that 'disappear' after a few months may be similar to me -- I check these boards like crazy when I'm trying out a new pharm or if an order from a usually-reliable source is taking too long, but most of the time I either stay away from here or just read and don't have much useful input to post. Not to say that the occasional person doesn't get busted, because there is an occasional story about that from time, but if you order 900(!!!) pills then you're begging to be busted anyway. I'd think that if there was even a minor amount of busts happening regularly then the boards would be rife with stories about who/where/how it happened. Over the years that i've been using db.com I can only recall 1 person who was supposedly busted, and that seemed a bit questionable (90 ativan, and on his first order?) I don't think you lose your computer or posting abilities when you're caught with 100 valium so the reports should be here if/when they happen. My philosophy is to not order any more than 100-200 pills so that it always fits into the 'regular' packaging that most pharms use. Don't be a drug dealer, don't order quantities like you are one, and you should be just fine.

Hey squirrelgirl-hope all is well- WOW!!!- Now that is a first for me- I don't know how I missed that one except that I don't have time to check all the forums every visit- but that definately sounds like a "trainwreck"- but there you go- with that amount I'm sure the customs office in D.C. perceived that as the old term of "smuggling" and probably "with intent to distribute"- poor woman- no matter what her motives were I feel sorry for her! Yea- it sounds like the state of Alabama was about one step away from calling in the Army Rangers!(poor attempt at humor over a sad story)- but it does sound a little like "overkill"- I wander sometimes if these small deep South towns and community law enforcement agencies get so hyped up in the drama of a big story that they can't help but go overboard- especially when the media puts their spin on it but- just my old penny's worth of speculation- glad you brought that back up- unbelievable!- must have been out of town then or something....Later, samkat73

I remember last year a small group of members posting some mighty large numbers- like "ordered 500strips(10 tabs to a strip) and received 1st half and second pack should be 3 or so days away"- on and on- Man! that's(do the math) begging for a bang at the door- I can guess where they go! A- jail B- underground email dealers with no website C- they just hang it up if they haven't been nailed because the couple of sites that were willing to ship that kind of order(some of you probably know who I'm thinking of) are now history! Just another penny's worth!- gotta go, Peace, samkat73

Yeah, right - be careful about saying anything about our neighbors to the south - i made a completely innocuous comment and someone posted and took offense - let's put it this way, living in a small town (anywhere) has its benefits and disadvantages --- anyway, think they counted 900 pills in her home, don't think she actually bought them at one time. probably saving for a rainy day. but no one should buy too many meds at one time, it's asking for trouble.

samkat73 thanks(I think???)
And sometimes those strange, bad things happen-like the woman in Montgomery. But samkat73, what about the cops in New York City who went waaay to far with the immigrant. Hmmm where was he from? Remember that story. Hardly in the south.
novashok88 I agree with you about those storys posted by people with 90 pills getting busted.

Pure codeine and DHC are both C-II. I never heard of any controlled deliveries for small amounts of those. They must come in by the ton.

Something told me to log in one more time tonight! First of all- IAM THE NEIGHBOR IN THE SOUTH!!!- grew up in Charleston, South Carolina- that should speak for itself- have always been in the South- from Cape Hatteras- to Wilmington N.C.( thats considered " the freakin' south too!)- have sister who was in Tupelo,Miss.- have spent time in Atlanta- have relatives in Georgia( Georgia State Troopers don't play around- everybody down here respects them or else- but they are on top of the game)- where I am now near the mideast coast is also considered "the south"! I am proud to be a native of the South just as I am to be a United States citizen!- so I hope that clears up that BIG misperception once and for all- I sure as hell would not bash my own heritage nor anyone elses- it COULD be any small community in any part of the U.S. The only reason I commented on the Alabama incident( yep- got friends over there too) was because I have seen local town officials overreact to things that did not deserve to be blown way out of proportion! No derogatory intent about any region of the country- now I have only been to D.C. once- other than that I've never been North of Virginia Beach- so I can't comment on the New York immigrant incident except to say injustice happens unfortunately everywhere border to border! oh yea- I'm very familiar with the part of the "Motto of the State of Georgia- all things in moderation"- The term "Southern hospitality" IS a valid reality so maybe some of y'all should come on down and chill out awhile!- but if ya stomp on toes too hard(especially around Charleston, S.C. and Georgia) you can turn a laid back Southern gentleman into a Lion! Now y'all can camp out here and debate till the sun comes up, but I've got a PM to answer and another page I want to look at!
PEACE,
samkat73

I was the original poster concerning the woman who was arrested in Montgomery County, Texas.
A DB member who was really on the ball posted a link to the newspaper article---can't recall who.
I was not trying to frighten anyone; but rather raise awareness that it can happen...and as such, certain precautions should be taken. I do not know if this woman was selling or not...I will try to find out.

Heya there squirrelgal- Don't worry, you did not start anything and I did not mean to get into a "sermon" about the south- I guess I sort of "stepped on the overdrive pedal"(guitar lingo)myself which I try to make every effort Not to do - but I had already had "one of those days"( tired,frustrated,etc)- I think somedays it's better to just read posts and not reply(for me anyway)! I guess one of my "quirks" is that I don't like being misunderstood or having what I say misperceived because I DO know that some people get their "jollies" by cynacally reading the wrong message into what some one says! Anyway, everythings cool- let's see... what is it the Aussies say.... oh yea- "no worries mate!"- Peace, samkat73
PS- I was joking with my lady earlier- told her- "I better stay out of that forum for awhile!"- ha!

the only one that i can remember is a housewifey looking 30 year old white woman a little over weight and the video i saw two deputies on regularr warrent routes arrest her with no fan fare. maybe it was a different one. do you remember anything about it so i could look it up . the deps there have a good rep for courtesy, a tradition of sheriffs there.
i think its a shame but if they did that she was probably had a record of drug sales and some maybe to kids which is real bad to do in the south.
