Is there a way to find out the phone number for a UPS hub or even where it is? Also are the UPS hubs open on Saturdays? Thanks people.

I am not sure if they are open on Saturdays. Some are, some aren't. I got the phone # for my local hub by calling the closest "UPS Store". They were VERY helpful, gave me directions, etc.

I don't think the UPS hubs are open on Saturday. Fedex is - but no UPS (at least the one close to me).

The only way I know how to get the # at a local hub is by someone who works there. The 800 # you call from the phonebook will contacts them for you when they are tracking the package.

They are loathe to give out the number as a matter of policy. An uninformed or sympathetic rep is the best means, if he or she is aware. A fiver to the driver often does the trick.

Maybe one way to get it would be to call UPS and ask for an estimated time of arrival- my guess is that that call would come from the hub who contacts the driver. If you have caller ID or can do *69, there ya go.
Keep in mind it sometimes takes several calls to UPS to get them to call you back for that ETA. My local hub is horrible, I know the number to mine because of a Next Day Air package that came at around 3 (supposed to be there by 10:30)- I had been playing telephone tag with the local hub who couldn't located the package on any of the four trucks in my town on that day.
I really hate UPS- a big factor for me in choosing an OP is whether or not their pharmacy uses Fedex. A lot of people have the opposite opinion, guess it's a matter of local hub quality.

If you have a question about your package, they usually tell you that someone from the local facility will call you within the hour. The trick is to miss the call, since they leave a number to call them back at. Then store the number in your Palm, write it on your palm, or keep it handy for the next time. That's the ONLY way I've ever gotten a hub number. I used to think the 800 number would answer everything, but the call center is in a different state, so they usually have no information, really, on where your package is. They keep their hub number so secret...

The hub phone number good, but the DISPATCHERS phone number is GREAT, IMO. He's the one you want. He can send a messages right to your driver. I got this coveted number when I had THREE packages stolen by a UPS employee (they call it "tampering"), and I screamed I was going to bring in the police. They appeased me with a direct line to "bobby". who would call the driver, every morning I had a package to make sure it was on the truck.

FedEx & UPS apparrently do not want to be inundated with calls all day. I have the nbr. for my FedEx hub & they are always courteous even when I call during the morning sort, asking for a hold. I initially got the number off my caller ID when they called me to confirm that someone would be home for a COD package (which turned out to be for somebody else, but at least I had the number!). I lost the number & got it again through a web search. UPS & FedEx are good local corporate neighbors. Google for Chambers of Commerce in your area or corporate advisory boards for schools or charitable groups. I relocated the number by "googling" in the town I knew the hub was located in.
I recently had to go to a UPS hub because a computer company INSISTED on an in-person signature on a $30 part. I confirmed that the package was at the hub via the 800#. When I arrived, they had it but in another building on the complex & it took nearly 30 minutes to find. I was able to use this experience to say to the chagrined employee, "look, this was a bit of a ride & an unneccessary wait. How about giving me this office's number so we don't have this problem again." Worked like a charm. The main thing to remember is JUST DON'T LOSE THE NUMBER!!
On an aside, the most valuable phone numbers (IMHO) are the ones that bypass voice mail menus at my state's Motor Vehicle offices. I was in the copying room of another state agency & saw a list called MV Numbers Answered by a HUMAN. I very quickly put that in my stack of papers to copy. It always surprises the MV staff, but I don't care. At least I get the service!

Checking the local area chamber of commerce web site was a great idea. I found the numbers to the local UPS and FedEx hubs.
I had the number to the FedEx hub. However, I just moved to a new city and didn't have its number. Thanks for the good advice!

After FedEx screwed up the other day with my NWW package, I now have the direct line to the manager at my local hub. I begged him for it and finally, after he made me 'promise' not to give it to anyone, he gave it to me. But this was after my priority package didn't get delivered until the next day because their 'truck broke down'. Guess he felt guilty since he was the one driving the disabled truck the day before!
