I live in a rural area, on the edge of an Indian reservation. We order online a lot, books, music, computer equipment, cosmetics, stuff for my kids, and so on. I receive my pain meds through OP's once a month, and have a package of med's specific to my condition come once every six weeks from a medical school. So far, in the last 10 shipments of meds, 6 have gone back to the hub saying "incorrect address". I am easy enough to find when the package says "Apple", "Sephora", or "Amazon". I normally order 2nd day from NWW and have it delivered the next day. I ordered overnight this one time to make sure it came today but ...... "incorrect address". Not only that, he did not try to call or list it undelivered till 515pm, when he was back at the hub, an hour away. When the dispatcher let me speak to him he made a lot of comments about "your community needs to get its stuff together" "roads and houses are not marked right", and a lot of other excuses and a few thinly veiled racial comments. When I asked why he found it last week he did not have an answer.
I am tired of having to hunt down my meds. Any suggestions?

Well, if they've found you many previous times for other deliveries, I don't see what the problem is. Is it a new driver, as far as you know? Do you think he is racially driven to be a pain in your neck? And have you considered just traveling the distance to the hub to receive your meds just to ensure there's no jacking you around? I mean, it's only every 6 weeks, so wouldn't it be worth it? Let us know how it all turns out.

Yes, since it's only once a month, DRIVE to the hub and pick it up. Be sure to call them EARLY that morning, around 7:45 and tell them to HOLD the package and tell them the address it's supposed to be delivered to.
That way, you eliminate any future hassles or possible confrontations.

I felt this too with a UPS delivery once; not sure of the reason and maybe it's just a coincidence.

I have the same problem when it comes to anything that has to be signed for,like medication.I have had sat delivery not show up untill wed the next week and this was the first atempt.I have asked my regular fedex driver why there is so many problems ,he says many drivers wait untill the last stops if possible because anything that has to be signed takes more time for the driver,which puts them behind schedule.It sounds lame to me .I have had a driver go to the first bottom floor apt ,knock and walk away to get back in the fedex truck.I yell down do u have anything for me(insert name]and they the driver says oh i went to the wrong door.Imight ad the door #is plainly on all doors.so ive been in the same situation as many of you.

A little more information:
They are not the only packages that come that have to be signed for. I live two minutes off the highway he has to drive down. Someone is always home in the morning, he usually comes between 9 - 10 am.
I wish I could just arrange to pick them up but it is not that easy. My husband and I both work in the casino industry and have strange hours and it is not always possible.

Just a tiny suggestion then, if I may. You say that someone is always home at those particular hours. I'm assuming you're speaking of yourself or your husband? If travel is an issue because you share a vehicle, why not ask a neighbor for a helping hand? Offer to make some bake goods or purchase a nice little gift basket for their efforts. Just a suggestion, hon.

That sounds like racisism to me and that's Bullshit consirdering the fact that Indians were the first people to inhabit this country until "the white man" came and fought and killed for the land. That is something about history that has ALWAYS PISSED ME OFF TO NO END, I could go on for volumes but I'll spare you...................it disgusts me that there even have to be 'reservations" for Gods sake your people were here FIRST!!!!!!!!!! All the rest of us should be living on reservations while all the tribes live and progress as they always have freely. Anyway, sorry for going off, but like I said this is a MAJOR sensitive issue for me. You should call this Best if kept off the board driver or manager who had the racial overtones in his voice and mention the words "racially motivated lawsuit" that should straighten their asses out. I am so sorry that you have to deal with that bullshit. It has ALWAYS been a lifelong dream of mine to be a Native American because you all are the true heroes and founders of this country and I have MAJOR respect for that!

I wrote a strongly worded letter to fedex. I received a phone call saying I was not the only one in the area having this problem. The supervisor/manager I spoke to said it does seem to be meds and other small packages that the drivers are assuming are meds. They are looking into it and wanted to reassure me that they know many people in our area have to rely on mail-order services to get the medicine they need affordably. They did not mention OP's so I certainly did not. They said they would be in touch with my and apologized for any inconvenience.
My husband is Choctaw, I kinda of look like my avatar but with green eyes and without the pointy ears.

Call FedEx during business hours and explain the situation. Ask them to have the driver's supervisor call you. If the shipper label was printed out using their on-line system, they will be able to see exactly what address was on there and they'll probably reprimand the driver for failing to deliver those packages if all those addresses were in fact correct. Also as a corporation, they won't tolerate racist comments by their drivers. Tell them what the driver said and insist it was racially motivated. Sounds like you have nothing to lose. They'll probably assign a new driver to your route if that driver has had other complaints.

I guess living in an area with several million other people has it's few advantages. One of the things I do is buying and selling vintage music stuff through the mails and UPS, FedEx, et all, so there are always packages coming and going. We even get parcels all the time for people who haven't lived here in many years. And the working class people, of all colors, who fill the ranks of the various governmental and private courier services look like they are working their butts off, and could care less about meds or anything else in the mail. They have never given me so much as a sideways glance, even down at the Airport hub.
Of course, the neighborhood is also such that desperate wino shopping cart people routinely jump the fence to try and steal my little stash of soda pop and beer cans, so that they can sell 'em for a nickel each, that is, when the streets aren't teeming with police right after the weekend shooting sprees. Thus anything of real value, such as medicine, I immediately move into the house, next to the German Shepherd !
So it's a trade-off, you know ?
Yeah, push this ridiculous treatment that you have had to deal with from these bigoted busybodies right down the management's collective throat...Jeez, talk about nasty, ignorant people with too much time on their hands...

Ugh! I'm so sorry to hear that, firefairy...it must be incredibly frustrating. I'm fortunate to have a great (& hot, but aren't they all?) FedEx guy with whom I exchanged cell #s some time ago. If I'm not home because I'm not expecting a package that requires a signature or he'll be earlier or later than usual, I always get a call. I've also had med refills shipped COD a few times due to the OP's temporary billing-but-not-sending problems and had FedEx show up with a vastly different $ figure (higher & lower) than was on my email receipt. Now whenever I receive something COD the FedEx guy calls me at the beginning of his run, tells me the amount he needs to collect thats marked on the waybill, and approximately what time he'll arrive. This allows me to run to the P.O. & re-do the MO if necessary...he also "bends" some rules for me.
When I read all the FedEx horror stories I wish I could let you borrow my FedEx guy...as long as I get him back!
