How to buy prescription drugs
(Online and Offline)
Read all the pages in the guide and follow the links...

Many "online pharmacies" are not pharmacies.
Sites selling info do not always have the info they offer...
Example: BorderPharmacy.Com and many others...

Beware of sites pretending to have the meds you need, or that for a fee will let you know where to order hard to find meds!

How does the trick work?

You search the Web for all those hard to find meds (Oxycontin, Ritalin, and others) and with a little bad luck you find a site that says: Ritalin or Oxycontin just $10 for a lot of pills... and next to it a nice graphic saying "Order Now"

You press the "Order Now" with high hopes :-)

Then you are told that before you order you must pay a little money, (the reasons vary), to be able to access the order form, to access an exclusive pharmacy, or some other deceptive trick to make you believe that after you make the payment you will be able to order. One popular trick is to say that first you have to pay for a consultation fee which is disguised to make you believe it is a medical consultation, or you are ask to complete a medical form which you have to pay to have reviewed... (Note that a consultation fee does not mean a medical consultation fee, and that a medical form may never be seen by a doctor).

We receive messages like the one below on a daily basis. The Web sites change but the general concept is the same.

"Hi, I am not sure you are whom I should contact but I need you to get the word out to avoid BORDER PHARMACY, They are a fraud.  I tried to order some Ritalin from their website because they said it was available for $10. When I click onto it to order, I was told to pay a fee of $59.99 which was billed through iBill.  I paid the money because I really need some Ritalin as I have Adult Attention Deficit Disorder.  Once I paid the money and got back on the site, the $10 Ritalin was bogus.  Most to the pharmacies they connect you to (which are quite limited) are free and the only that offered Ritalin wanted $239 for a 30 supply.  That is outrageous.  I sent an email to both iBill and Border Pharmacy demanding my money back since they had intentionally committed fraud.  I have not heard from either.  I want to press legal action against them.  Do you have any words of wisdom as to what steps I can take to recoup the fee that was placed on my Master Card?  I want to warn everyone to stay away from iBill and Border Pharmacy.

Thank you for listening

Pauline X"

Below you will see the kind of misleading information presented by Borderpharmacy.com (even their name is misleading)...

Many sites  are just telling lies, and they are creating smart sites that are confusing people into believing what they want to believe: that they can easily order hard to find meds at bargain prices
Experienced prescription drug shoppers taking to read the "small print" may understand that those sites do not sell meds. But if you are like most people you will visit their sites and think that they offer, like in this case the BorderPharmacy Web mentions, 30 Ritalin tabs for $10.

Screen copy of their site taken on July 2003. They clearly list Ritalin at approximately 33 cents per pill:

But they do not sell Ritalin or any other med. And the sites they list do not sell Ritalin for the advertised price...
They only sell access to a list of sites that "may" sell you Ritalin at that price.

Advice: read the small print, and remember that if it is too good to be true it probably is.

Warning signs:

  • Sites that offer the meds you are having a hard time to find

  • Sites that offer controlled drugs mentioning "no prescription needed"

  • Sites offering super discounted prices, unrealistic prices

  • Sites charging for administrative fees, handling fees, consultation fees before you can order...

Advice: if you feel you were mislead just ask for a refund and if they do not give it to you in within a few days just contact your bank, or credit card company, and demand a chargeback.
