I was told that the current effects I am experiencing with the MS-Contin (feeling over medicated, actually high) will subside in a few days. I hope the analgesia I get from it will not be reduced for a while.
I am not planning to cut the tabs in half and just wait to get adjusted to them, but you bring up an interesting issue. I would think that the extended release properties of this and other E.R. meds would be more involved then just having a wax coating on the outside of the tab. Have taken Perdurtas before and there are many different colors of codeine mixed in the tab, like the "tiny time pills" in Contact. There must be some type of micro-encapsulation with varying breakdown periods in the MS-Contin.
