I find most Dcotors want to know what meds you have had success with in the past, and I do not hesitate to tell them what works for me. If you are truly in pain and honest with them in your meeting then you stand a good chance of getting what you seek. If they insist on you trying another med, just call them in pain on a Friday or Saturday night to let them know it is not working, along with the phone number of your 24-hour pharmacy.
