Pam--I sent you a PM, but your not online now---if anyone here know's Pam...please get in touch with her...this sounds like Guillen Barre' Syndrome....an autoimmune disorder that usually begins with symptoms described here....numbness/tingling (or the sensation limbs have fallen asleep) of extremeties that is progressive, facial muscles begin to develop paralysis(the eye drooping) and can progress to respiratory failure due to the diaphragm becoming paralyzed. YOU NEED TO GO TO THE ER NOW!!!
Please...you just can't let the fear of not having insurance keep you from seeking treatment ...paralysis of the diaphragm(the muscle responsible for breathing) usually follows paralysis of facial muscles....and if you progress to this stage, YOU MUST BE PLACED ON A VENTILATOR....you cannot breath with a paralyzed diaphragm.
This is the explanation in the merk manual (the Medical BIBLE)
Guillen Barre' Syndrome A rare neurological illness, affecting 1 -2 persons per 100,000, marked by an ascending paralysis. The loss of motor function begins in the extremeties and may quickly rise to include the respiratory muscles, causing respiratory failure. The loss of motor function can occur in a few days to 2-4 weeks. Pain in the hips, thighs and BACK are COMMONLY experienced. It most frequently occurs in young to middle aged adults (although has been evidenced in all age groups.
