The media is protraying OP's as irresponsible businesses that prescribe "dangerous narcotics" to anybody. Well, as most of us know reputable OP's do not do that. You usually have to have a CC or medical records to validate the use of meds. I do not know of any legitimate OP that sells schedule II meds like Oxy. A lot of times the media focuses on the tragedies of some stupid kid who used an Email source to buy illegal Oxycontin and OD'd. I think that there has to be someone who can stand up and speak up about internet medicine and how it has helped so many people live worthwhile lives. It may also provide drug addicts with a way to get their fix, but it mainly is used by good people with pain who do not have any other option. Im sure that if the media took one of our stories and did a piece on our experiences then the country wouldn't be so harsh about OP's. Let them see what it is like to have a painful condition and let them come into the doctors with us, while we are crying and begging for help. Then they can film us while the doctors hand us our vioxx samples and then tell us to take some more Prozac. Yes, lets let a media crew come home with us, where we can't get out of bed in the morning because we are too sore. Or see the dishes that pile up, because we are in too much pain to clean up our house. Then maybe they can watch while we log on to Drug buyers, spend hours researching different OP's and trying to decide what to do. Then they can see us shell out a few more hundred dollars to talk to a doctor that is compassionate and will give us the pain medicine that we need without hassling us or giving us a lecture on addiction. They can sit at home with us and wait for that package arrive, and see how happy we are when we finally have our meds in hand. In a few hours they can watch as we can finally get out of bed and start cleaning up, and start playing with our children again and start having normanl lives. I wish they would do something like that. "Reality TV" is so popular, why don't they spend a few days in our shoes and see what it is like.
In my opinion, the media has fanned the flames of the fire that the DEA is starting against prescription drugs. Legitimate OP's are regulated, IM sure or else they wouldn't be in business. The shady ones get shut down, and since drugs and drug dealers have been around forever, no one can stop the email pushers. Those are the places that sell the Oxy's and dont' screen patients. So people will kill themselves because they don't have a legitmate need for narcotics, except to feed their high. This is nothing new, its just that the internet is a new way to deal drugs. American Op's that are listed on this board are not drug dealers, they are a form of medical service. I don't know how long they will last since so many people are blaming these places for the wave of OD's and deaths by painkillers or benzos.
Someone needs to set the record straight that the OP's we use are not the ones killing people. Why not give the media the fake email dealers and see if they can order some Oxy. Then give them the number for an American OP and see how far they can get. That should show them the difference.
