If you look at my other post about this person I know that was suddenly 'laid off' has been diagnosed with clinical depression. She does NOT think that this is an illness. i too have clinical depression (but I fit most all the categories that I and the 'experts' can't decide type of depression applies to me).
She has disoriented speech patterns, very disorganized lately, She is the WORST procrastinator I know and that is probably what got her fired. i know that procraatination is a sign of depression.
These ae some of the symptoms.
I have tried to convince her its an illness and that the company made NO accomidation under the Americans with Disability Act when she told her boss she was depressed and had been seeing a doctor for it and was (and still is) under his care.
Since I am not being successful at convincing her that depression is just an illness and nothing to be ashamed of,maybe some of you can post things that will finally convince her that depression is an illness. And that she may should think about applying for social security diability and/or pursue this under discrimination under ADA.
Since she is NOT a member of this board (maybe some other time) and I want to show her how encouraging and knowlegable members of this board can be, I ask that if you do post, please post only honest but encouraging things.
