I think there are some things IRA for one that can be done like that, but the problem is I drive for a small trucking company that JUST started taking out taxes and the girl who does that is just going by what the computer tells her. The other thing is if they do allow this in GA we do not have any benefits though the company NONE!! So anything like insurance, retirement plans or any other things that some employers offer we have to get it on our own. So there is no way to not take taxes out of the money for those type of things. So the 1099 is the only way I can recope anything at all for the 5 thousand I spend on health insuarance just for me. I had to make a choice, continue to work for that company and drop my insurance or find someone who would pay me with a 1099 and keep my insurance. I couldn't eat if I have taxes taken out and have insurance. Something has to give, you just can't afford to have EVERYTHING. So for me to survive all year I just have to deal with the tax situation on April 15th. The IRS will put you on monthy payments with real low interest...........
