So many things have gotten way off the topic here.
The last time the govt got involved to " regulate" something was in the 70's ( well the most memorable screw up I can recall..no flaming as I am sure they have regulated other things but this is the WORST case). Oil prices back in the 70's. Anyone remember that when your license depicted when you were able to fill up? Odds on odd days and Evens on Even days.. The cars then DID not get the mileage today.
I remember my parents discussing on how to get to work and when to shop. We as kids simply had to walk or ride bikes back then. It was ok for young kids to be alone then, not like today. If you wanted a ride somewhere you were SOL.
Now that I am completely off topic again all I was saying, was make health care reasonable and affordable for everyone. Not just the wealthy. Someone mentioned the rich, I am not envious of them I just wish that you did not have to be rich to afford health care..ESPECIALLY when it comes to children.
I am like Kimbell. Not coming back to this thread, we as posters will never change the way things are HERE in this post. We are simply sharing and debating our opinions. Each person has to make it their responsibilty to write letters, emails and phones calls to governors and senators. Heck even the GWB. Write each week, until you get some sort of response. Once you get a response then KEEP doing it.
Most people don't have the endurance or drive to do such things. I do and will continue to. I believe each of us has a right to be heard and I believe that one person can change the things. Sure it may take more time than if you had the majority of the vote with you but one person along can change things. Also, so many people choose not to vote then complain about their Pres, Gov or Senator. Well, too bad, you can't complain if you stood on the fence and now you don't like either side.
I don't think we should lie down and die, the uninsured. I just want fair, affordable health care. HMO's are here because people are sue happy. Again, there is a time an place to sue. My last two surgerys I had to write myself with a sharpie on where the surgery was going to take place! hehe I laughed so hard, my husband said to nurse Well that is a good way to cover your butts. So true but I don't mind, if I have to take charge to insure they operate in the correct place then I will. I am sure the people who were operated on incorrectly would gladly change their life back the way it was. Those people.. they deserve to sue. Which ends up being a very small percentage of lawsuits.
I am off my soap box and like before I won't come back.
I am busy writing my letters that may or may not ever be read but at least I know I am trying.
