Not quite that easy. My exhusband hasn't paid child support in over 2 years. I have contacted legal aid, they can't seem to do anything for me. Everytime they track him down and start garnishing his wages, he just "quits" the job but really just starts taking his wages under the counter. They threaten to throw him in jail and he says, "fine take me then" but they never do. I've been going around in circles for too long trying to get something to happen, and now I am at the point where I don't have the time or energy to persue it anymore. Legal Aid sucks, I can't afford a lawyer and I have to focus on feeding and housing my kid. For millions of women like me, our "options" are pretty much nonexistant.
