Hi! I am having trouble because my husband is trying to order using the same OP as me. It will not let him order saying he is a returning customer and he is not. He is not ordering the same meds. Does anyone know why this is?

That's my guess, too- the same IP address. Notice when you place your orders, it logs the order from "somebody at this isp address"? I think that's most likely your problem.

May be IP address, but that's kind of a flawed method considering dialup per-session dynamic IP addressing, hence possibility for collateral denial. I'm thinking it's probably a cookie within your browser software; most modern cart software is anyway. Try clearing the cookies within your browser, and then restarting the browser and ordering again. There are many ways to do this depending on what your browser is, if it's Mozilla I can help, if IE someone else will know. Give that a shot then holler back..... If that doesn't work it could be IP address AND cookie, or just the IP address alone as others stated, we can usually get a new IP address unless the carrier doesn't allow your hardware address to age out or be replaced without calling. Clear cookies first and that will work in many cases...

Your husband just needs to use another computer for his order. You must have a static, or permanently assigned, IP address. If you use AOL dial-up though it should change every time (dynamic IP addy) you sign on. You may even want to rent a mailbox at a mail place (not the post office) so that you have a street address different from your home address. That will solve your problems of the OP thinking the same person is trying to "double-dip" when it's actually your husband trying to get meds.

Just hit me that you could use an anonymous proxy to defeat the ip address mechanism if necessary. If cookies alone doesn't work, check out something like http://www.guardster.com/ or any of other thousands of free proxy server sites. Some you can just surf thru, some you have to configure your browser to use the proxy address. "Transparent" proxies will not rewrite the source address, but any other proxy config will. Let us know what you find out after eliminating each criteria.....

I dont use Medsviaweb but I know a person who does. He and his girlfriend use them from the same computer and so does his brother.
They have 3 scripts going to the same house.
It doesnt matter to them. They get their refills in 21 days.
I think that is why they stick with them because of that reason.
Most OP's are more strict than MVW.

Make sure that you are LOGGED OUT, and then have him log in as a new customer. Everyone uses my computer to order from the same ops that i do without a problem. Anglwink

This drives me nuts! This is exactly what happened when I tried to put an order through for my friend who is totally computer illiterate. I was thinking that if I set her up her own account, with a different email address, password, etc. it would work out fine but it totally messed the order up. Now I'm in the same boat, she needs to order again and I'm going to switch her to NWW - will the same thing happen again? I do have another computer I can use if that's what the problem is but we use a hub/server type set up and I bet all of our computers have the same IP address. Does anybody know the steps to change your IP address - temporarily? This kind of stuff is way out of my league.

I've had this problem with TropicalRx when trying to order for a friend & having it shipped to my house as she's not home during the day. I called Tropical (back when they answered their phones) & was told to try to modify the "Ship-To" address.
For instance, (and no, this isn't my address, just an example, lol) MY order was shipped to: 1234 Homestead Village Road, New York, NY. When I tried inputting that addy for my friend, Tropical's software recognized her as a returning customer because of the duplicate address. What I modified it to was: 1234 Home Stead Vill. Rd., NY, NY
Try abbreviating parts of your street address if you can, add a suite # if you live in a single family home, change "road" to street, ave, lane, etc.
Worked for me, anyway.
Good luck.

you are right, lovepink. The database stores your address exactly how you input it. If you use 123 Sesame St. (yes, I have kids ), try using 123 Sesame Street.

You can check what IP address is assigned to your computers by going to this website.

Wow! You all have given some great advice. I will try to do everything you have said, although it will take me some time as I am computer illiterate. Thank you all so much! This is a great board!

Hello-
Just a bit of info about your IP. That site is cool, but if you are on a private net/behind a fire wall the IP shown will be the NAT address. If you want to see your machine addredd (for Win9x machines) click on "start" and type "winipcfg" (no quotes) in the run box. You can also release your current ip (if it is dynamic, most are) and renew it.
On XP/NT click on "start" in the "run" box type "cmd" no quotes. A dos box will pop up. type "ipconfig /all" no quotes. this will give you the info you are looking for. OBTW type "exit" to get out of the DOS box.
Hope this helps.

Both wife and I have used NWW at the same time from the same computer with no problem.

My order was immediately denied. It said I appear to be a returning customer and must log in. I am going later after the advice slightly adjusted my address. I addes an A after my numerical address. I hope Fedex doesn't have a problem. My order went through after that. Thanks everyone.

I think IP address is the least likely cause. Ship to address is the most likely. Try erasing your cookies and temporary internet files and that should help. Many dsl users have different IP addresses go out with each log on, such as my computer which does not have the same IP everytime i log on

Coldhot - my order was kicked out later. Thank you everyone for the interesting tips and suggestions. Diana - your address tip is excellent! That never crossed my mind but it's a great idea. I was worried because I'm going to place an order for my friend on my computer, but of course the doctor will be calling her at her home and the delivery will be made to her home - which just so happens to be the address I had my refill mailed to last week because I was staying with them for the week. Confused yet? LOL Plus, she will fax her records to them so hopefully their isn't any confusion. Best of luck to all.
