Hey Friends. I'm going to Nogales, Mexico tomorrow AM to buy a few Benzo's and want to know the scoop on bringing it back. Do I need script? If so, how much will it run and how many can I bring back. Or, do I even need to declare it? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. As I said, I'm leaving first thing Saturday AM and really have no idea what the drill is. I'm only planning on buying a months supply (30 or so), and would hate to get in trouble if I got caught.
Thanks a lot in advance.

You definately have to declare it to be legal. When I went to Los Alagones (by yuma) last year, I had a hard time finding a pharmacy that would even sell you anything that was scheduled. I was able to buy Soma, but that was about it. I'm sure that in Nogales, there are probably some doc's (or pharmacies) that will write a script for the benzos, but I'm not sure if that will suffice to the customs agents if you bring it back and declare it. Just look for the shady characters standing close to the pharmacies and I'm sure they will be able to fix you up with the script and meds. I would probably just put some in a envelope (several to spread the risk), wrap it up with paper as if it was a letter and mail it to myself in the US from Mexico. Of course, put a false return address (as if from a buddy). Maybe other DB'ers have better advice, but that is how I would do it. Actually, I would probably just recommend ordering from access-meds.

The law allows you to bring back 50 dosage units of a controlled substance "without a valid prescription," by which they mean without a scrip written by a DEA-licensed doctor. Yes, a few doctors in Mexican border towns are licensed to practice medicine in the U.S. and have DEA #s. Not many, though.
The rules for U.S residents bringing back meds over a land border are posted on the U.S. Customs web site. That new law took effect a few years ago. If you can't find it, i'm sure someone else here can find it for you.
Even though Customs does not consider a Mexican doctor's scrip to be "valid," you need to have it anyway or they'll probably take them away saying that you have no need for them and are importing them for resale. Also, if you get caught on the Mexican side with controlled substances and no scrip, you could become very familiar with the Mexican prison system. Trust nobody. The same guys hanging around offering to get you drugs can get a kickback from the Mexican cops after they arrest you ... because most of their cop's income comes from bribes.
There are plenty of Americans in Mexican jails who thought it would be an easy score and were wrong. If you don't know Spanish and don't know how to bribe your way out of an arrest, you shouldn't be doing this. Sounds like that is the case. You're better off with access-meds, etc.

I used to go med-shopping in Nogales myself when I was living in Phoenix and nearly got pinched. You need to be very careful about how much and what med you are bringing back with you into the states. For example, I brought back 100 butalbital and about 50 valium. I had prescriptions written for both of these (from the pharmacist at one of those little hole in the wall border pharmacies). Make sure that you a) claim the meds and b) have a written script of some sort for your meds. Another thing you can do, which I did one other time, was bring over an empty med bottle of something similar and use that. I never had problem with that when I bought neo-percodans on another trip (which are basically darvon and not percodans at all). I knew what size and shape the meds were before I went in (got some from a friend) so I brought over an empty pill case (in my name of course) that was for tylenol 3's (they look identical). No problems there. Good luck...you don't want to be doing time for drug smuggling, right?
