I'm about to place an order with P24. Howeverm their concept of the conversion rate between the USD and the Euro is highly fantasy based. I know the Euro is worth less than the USD. I've only checked on currency site, but it actually placed the price of 1 Euro at 88 cents.
I'm not used to exchanging money in the US, so I'm not sure where to do it. Do banks do it? Help! TThanks.

I always do it at the airport - not sure if banks do that or not?

Usually the credit card co's will give you a very favorable exchange rate . For currency conversion info look at http://www.xe.com/ucc/

Toe, maybe I'm misunderstanding something.
The Euro is much stronger than the dollar right now. Yesterday I sent a Euro wire transfer, and the rate was 1.1682 which means each Euro is worth $1.17. Last week it was worse - almost $1.20 for each Euro. I've seen it steadily increase since the beginning of the year. Used to be about 88 cents per Euro.
I think you are dividing the Euro by the rate. Multipy it instead.
Trust me on this - I'm an accountant and send these wires weekly. And my company is getting killed with the exchange rate.

The USD is much weaker than the Euro right now..... For the first time in many years. Yep, our economy is definitely going down the tubes. 40 Euros is almost 50$ USD..... I know because I just ordered something from the UK (DVD's not meds) - The Euro is definitely stronger (as of recently at least)

Thank you. The actual exchange rate versus the amount a company will charge you for exchange are two very different things. When I called around to banks last week, the best rate I could get for 1 euro was 1.02USD, but if you take those same dollars and exchange them in an EU nation, you WILL get a greater number of euros than you gavein dollars.
Next time I will try the airport.

Stacy is correct.
Latest (Jun 27) official exchange rate:
Each Euro costs $1.1423 + whatever your bank or money exchanger tacks onto the cost, usually about 1 1/2%, if you buy in quantity like 5,000 Euros. So Friday one Euro would cost a minimum of $1.16.
You mentioned the bank you called offered to give you $1.02 for each Euro. It doesn't mean that you would pay $1.02 per Euro - it means you would only receive $1.02 for each Euro you sell instead of the official rate of $1.14.
In my experience airports and hotels are the worst places to exchange money.

I made it very clear to the agent with whom I spoke that I wanted to buy euros .
