Please someone try and help me make sense of this.
A friend of mine made his first order recently, waited about 1 and 1/2 month to get a "sorry we missed you letter", they wanted that person to put their John doe on the slip(however) person was not home.
THIS IS STRANGE, or am I just tripin, this is the first Ive heard of Custums sending even the usual love letter cert mail.?!?.
Any ideas about this one guys and gals???

Are you sure its a seizure notice? Or is it just a card saying that he wasn't home and wanting his signature? You make it very unclear in your original post.

I sorry I was unclear it was late, etc.
My friend has certified mail waiting for them from US customs(says so on the card). Im sure its a seiz notice, but whats up with the certified mail, Ive never heard of this.?.?

Customs seizure letters sent certified aren't uncommon - there was a DestinyRx thread a couple months ago that discussed certified seizure letters both specific to Destiny & in general, if you'd like to do some further reading.

So what did anyone who recieved a cert letter from customs ever do?? The only reason I could see sending a cert letter would be to gather a signature, or even a drivers lisecnse #. What does anyone think?

Most people say that they just throw the letters away and they never hear of anything again, however, if it were me, I'd be darn curious what that letter all had to say!
I would imagine if it wasn't a very large amount, Customs probably wouldn't proceed any further as long as you didn't respond to the letter trying to claim your package. Although there are others who will report that they have gone through tremendous amounts of BS with the DEA showing up at their door, etc. But I really think it all has to do with the quantity. I don't see how they would want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars prosecuting a small amount of prescription drugs, but I could be wrong.

I guess Im speculating that they are attemping to keep a "list" perfect way by recording the cert sent back to us customs. Dont know, wish another vet had this happen, and could shead some light. Still would liketo know why the "love" letter was sent cert?? One positive note was that the name used was a phoney. So I assume someone could deny knowing anything about this.

Hi..I was directed to this site for another reason but started to read some stuff on there and found this...they are cracking down on overseas drug importation. From thsi artical it looks like Canada is it's aim.This was written on 4/28 so it's not that old...Hope that helps...Boo

I've been somewhat away from the Boards a few days and haven't really kept up as well as I should. I did read something the other day on, I think, either the FDA, DEA or Customs sites that says if they seize a package they are REQUIRED to send a notice to the recipient. Makes sense to me--otherwise the PO (quasi private but Gov nonetheless) could just deliver whatever mail they decided to deliver. It may be that in times of security they want a signature to prove delivery of the notice.
Personal opinion, I'd either do nothing or go to the PO and say refused--probably leaning on doing nothing. I surely would not sign and accept--unless I were expecting something of great value that they wanted me to declare and pay taxes on! (I started to say "antiquities" but they are exempt anyway.)

My first op order ever was from Australia. I waited 4 weeks, no meds.
Eventually, I got this certified letter from customs. I checked the box that said "refused". Never heard from the again. It has been over 18 months.
I worried about it at first, but after never hearing anything else about it I just let it go.
Postnote: order was re-sent and without problems. No problems since either.

I get so mad I don't even know how to type out my rage anymore.
I think the lobbyists and spin doctors for the AMA and the Drug Companies should be strung up in iron cages and left to slowly starve and rot.
No here's a better idea--
send them to Iraq to all those imprisoned big cats that no one seems to be getting around to feeding.
Let them serve as a caution to all those other nasty scrabbling little money-mongers who will only accept an obscene level of profit.
Selling to a captive population at the prices set between the government and the industry--isn't that kind of pinko for a conservative administration and a liberal challenging party whos hearts are supposed to be just bleeding for the poor and elderly?
How about less compassion and more choices, thank you very much!

Well for one you used a fake name,
but most postoffices now know what to look for. The only reason I know this is cause I over heard a guy at work and he said he works for the postoffice and they know what some packages are he didn't go into detail, maybe cause I was there not sure. I would stay away!!!! sara43
