From what I gather every local post office has been informed that they must now scan _every_ package and letter from now on, I assume this also includes incoming foreign mail from customs most especially and most likely applies to FedEx, USP and Airborne Express and other carriers as they will probably comply with the governments requests. ie. whatever the scanning involves, irradiation, x-ray, opening all foreign boxes, etc., I'll be holding off any international orders for a while as I have stocked up in anticipation.
I'd be curious to know if international orders of scheduled drugs still make it through, even if signs of being opened are obvious.
Thoughts?

I am definately holding off on ordering for awhile.
I have a feeling that most pkgs/letters/etc...will probably go through as usual, but I'm a bit too paranoid to take the chance. Although, I feel like the govt has much better things to do than chase after those of us that order small amounts of personal meds.
But, I'm a nervous person about this stuff anyways...LOL...my last order had me a wreck by the time it got here. I had a dream that the law enforcement delivered my package.
And, the week before my meds got here, there was something going on down the street and there were two police cars sitting on our street right at mail delivery time...I about had a heart attack..LOL!!
Anyway, even though I know the risks are small, they are there, and probably higher risk now.

If you haven't noticed from people's responses in threads, mail *has already been* backed up. Normal delivery times have increased from (an example) 2 weeks to 3 or 4 weeks instead and thats express international, where about 14 days is the most you would expect. i suspect they won't do much scanning state to state except irradiation and x-rays on packages, but from anything coming from customs i think they are going to be much more liberal in opening packages, especially from places near iraq (ie. the pharmacies in India come to mind, and Bulgaria pharmacy), i think perhaps the s. african pharmacies would be the safest, but they are expensive.
the orange alert was just updated today to "orange-plus" which isn't really on the alert list, but it's meant to indicate that this is more serious than our previous 3 orange alerts.
if i ever do an order and this war drags out and code orange persists for a long time i will order from a US OP and pay extra, i'd rather pay extra and have greatly increased chances of it getting here than buying it cheaply, and having it not get here sadly.
best of luck for those of you still ordering, i'd be curious to know how many packages get through with noticable tampering. i've only ever had one package (from india) that was cut open and then resealed with a different color tape (they didn't even bother to make it look untampered with). left the meds alone as it was only effexor xr.

do you think this will make a difference if the meds have already been shipped (like a week ago or more)I vowed not to order again until after this whole war mess is over but I still have a couple of outstanding orders that are still out there.

I think if it was shipped a week ago it has already passed customs or been seized by them. I have one outstanding order from biotran, a sample of 3 pills, that I'm not worried about, they are in Europe and the sample was free so if it doesn't get here I am not upset.

I'm going to wait until the coast is clear before I place an overseas order.

I worked for 12 years as a mailman, to scan, which also means inspect every package and letter, I should have said backed up for months.Be nice to your mail-person you have no idea how tough management is on the carriers, there were times we were watched and timed, they would caculate your stride, you had to walk at a min. pace, to stop and chat for a minute with customers that you would know for many years was a no no . There were some perks (guys) you would be amazed how some housewives would like to greet there mailman

I also will not be ordering any overseas meds for a while. The last two orders I placed almost caused me to have heart failure. About the last time I ordered there was a lot of talk here about MIBs coming to your door. Between the MIB talk and a seizure from a overseas place, that pretty much stopped my ordering for awhile anyway.
