If you are not home to sign for a package, will they (USPS)leave some sort of note telling you to pick it up? Do you then just go to the post office and get it? Any feedback on whether or not this is risky?
thanks

Where i live, they leave you a little form saying they'll come back the next day, or you can call and have them hold it for pickup. It's usually in the mailbox. You'll need an id if you pick it up.

I think it's standard practice. They leave a note with the location (post office) of the package and the times/phone #/etc.
No problems

I had to do this recently. No one was home when they tried to deliver and the P.O. left a note asking that we pick it up or check the box for redelivery. I was a little nervous about going to the P.O. to sign for it. No problem I showed my drivers license and signed and took home my delivery. They are so busy they don't have time to even look at you funny.

Do most of the pharmacies make you sign? I got my first order today (myrxforless.com) and I had to sign and the mail man had a problem with his little electronic thingy and went back to the truck (with my package after I signed for it) and needless to say I was a bit nervous. LOL

If it is ''fed ex'' you must sign no way around that. In some cases someone else at your house could sign. I had a situation where the U.P.S guy could only deliver if my name was signed. Ups and all other come back 3 times and no one has any clue what is in the package they see hundreds by the hour. We just think they do..

As far as FedEx goes, when there were things coming and I absolutely could NOT be home for delivery I left a short note on the door with my name and signature. It's always great coming home at the end of a long day and see your package waiting for you! Good luck!

It seems the same goes for UPS, or at least some of their drivers... I left a note on the door this morning with my name, a signature and the tracking # of my package. Sure enough, when I got home from work there were my meds waiting for me under to doormat!

I 'third' that. I also printed my tracking info, put it on my doormat and signed it.
I just assume the UPS guy will leave it; just as long as he can have your sig. and say "here...look...." in case of a problem. I will take my chances though...just so I know my meds are waiting when I get home, not a damn yellow sticky note!

The last two scripts i've received from United/UPS, they just left in the front storm door, no note or anything left by me. Just knock and walk away. I believe it depends on the driver as well, with the exception of some shipping options which absolutely require a signature. *shrug* who knows........

If the merchant sends the package stamped "No Driver Release", then the driver HAS to get a signature or it will not be left at the residence. The driver will leave a note for next delivery date and you must be at home or pick it up and sign for it at a UPS station. This has happened to me with large packages and other things I order that are not med related.

In the UK UPS, Business Post etc. must get a signature, if you are not in - you get a card through door and you need to arrange for it to be delivered again or you need to go down and collect the parcel with ID yourself, no matter how small it is!
