I am confused on the whole importing prescription drugs for personal use thing. I have read read that it is legal to import up to a 90 day supply. And I have also read that it doesn't mattet how much you import that it is still illegal. Can someone help clear this up for me? Also how much trouble could a person get in to if you get caught?
It is a myth that you can import drugs for personal use. You must have a special license to do this, however, *most* of the time if Customs gets your goodies, the most that happens to you is that they send you a letter stating why they took your stuff. There are a few stories floating around about Feds coming to your door, but most seem like urban legend to me. There are people on this board that have been ordering from IOP's for many years with NO problems, except an occasional Customs seizure. BUT, order small...if you order something ridiculous like 1000 tabs of Xanax or something, that GREATLY increases your chances of getting a visit from the G-men. For small quantities (personal use) Customs usually just sends the form letter, and you just throw it in the trash...they have bigger fish to fry than some dude ordering 100 Valium through the mail, yanno?
