Fioricet
      #141669 - 02/25/04 09:01 AM

Has anyone experience nausea while taking fiorcet? My neuro usually prescribe axocet (same thing, without the caffeine, I think) but a new one gave me fiorcet and I seem to always experience nausea, even when taken with food. There must be something about the caffeine though because it seems to work better, though not wonderful...All experiences will be greatly appreciated....BLESSINGS 2 U ALL...Disciple

I've never experienced nausea from the fioricet, but from the migraines themselves. I'm armed (and dangerous, lol j/k) with a couple forms of anti nausea meds to combat the nausea. It could be the caffeine, who knows, everyone is different. for some people caffeine doesn't help their migraines. Try drinking a cup of coffee or some cola and see if you get nauseated, then you'll know it's the caffeine and not just the fillers in a particular brand of fioricet. I knew somoene who could only take one brand of fioricet without getting ill. good luck, I sympathize with you.

Yea it could be the caffein, even though coffee might
not bother you, there's something about powder caffein
that is gut rot. Another thing with me, I could take
any pill in the world, but generic Fioricet used to make
me gag an even puked once or twice when it starts to
dissolve on the back of your tougne. Maybe take
Phrenyln(Butalbital,Acet.) and drink coffee.

In my expierience the Brand Fioricet works best. I tried the generic and I got sick to my stomach... My dad also takes Fioricet for Migraines and prefers the brand also, because the generics made him feel sick also.

Take Care

I see someone mentioned Fioricet without caffeine.... i think one brand mentioned was Phrenilin. I cannot take caffeine and recently was taking Phrenilin for my tension headaches and they helped a lot. I got them from a Key West pharmacy in Florida and now all of a sudden they seemed to have closed and i can't find any place that sells Phrenilin, or Fioricet without the caffeine. Does anyone know where i might be able to get some?
Thanks so much...

Mooya

I'm sorry, I haven't seen another place that offered them. Perhaps try a google search. I think not many people ask for it, so it's not very popular at the affiliate sites.
