I am worried about building a tolerance to Lortabs. I have been taking 8 a day lately and have been on them for about 6 months. I tried cold turkey but the fatique was UNBEARABLE. I hurt ALL over and I am a single mom and cannot do this. I tried a "search" and I keep getting "cannot proceed". No answer from DB help. What should a take? Methadone, Temgesic, Suboxone:Buprenorphine, or Narcan OR more importantly which are avaiable online and what are the sources? Can anyone PLEASE help me?

Look up a Suboxone doctor. This is by far the best get off treatment out there. NO WITHDRAWS. Temjesic works pretty good, but I dont know anything you can get online this quick. Best bet is to find a doc who can see you on Sat for Suboxone.

Bernie, I am right in the middle of a holiday. I used 5 days of Tems. 5 .2mg in the morning and 5 at night. The only effects I've felt were some stomach problems on the third night. No fatigue, worked the whole time. I'm on day 6 with no hydros.
Tems seem to be hard to come by these days. A sub doc is the safest route, but can cost you.
Good luck.

Tems/Bupes/Subs confuse me.
Don't these come in a variety of doses?
One comes in .2mgs,
Another in 2 mgs
and another, I think, is 8 mg.
I believe the Click, Interpharm and the such only sell the .2 mg doses, correct?
So, you'd have to take 10 of the .2mg's to total just one of the 2 mgs. or 40 of the .2's to equal one 8 mg.
Is this right or is everybody talking about the same dose, just misplacing the (.)

I also went through the same thing a few weeks ago. It helped me to take something to make me sleep through the worst of the w/d's. Also an otc pain killer, or a mild rx for the pains.
It's awful, but you can do it! It helps to do this every now and then, to reduce your tolerance for them so you don't have to take so much to help.
pm me if you need someone to talk to. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone who's been there

Five .2mg tems equals 1mg of Sub. I was taking 2mg of Sub a day in the form of Tem. Sub comes as Tem and two types of Sub. One that is pure and one that contains an substance to keep people from injecting it. I beleive.
I was very pleased with the lack of withdraw symptoms. Just some tummy turmoil that ammodium took care of.
Like PW posted, it's good to do to keep tolerance low and increase in meds in check.
Good luck to all.

I just checked Interpharm and they are out of Temgesic. Any other sources? I hate to call my doc cuz last time I saw him he was going to prescribe oxycontin for me but if he knows I am taking 8 Hydros a day he might not do that. I want to get them out of my system without going thru that miserable fatique and pain. I tried taking Naprosen, Voltaren, Codeine, Celebrex, etc.. all the other meds I bought but didn't work and I still felt like hell. I would like a fresh start when I am due for my annual with my doc. I am sure he is going to want to start the epidural, tens PT etc...but with no insurance this is the way to go.(OP) Any help appreciated. I have holiday functions for my child and can't be lying in bed crying. I will never try cold turkey again. My doc prescribed me Xanax (one script) Soma (for two years) and Amitripyline but I hurt so bad I could hardly sleep. Never again. Any other sources, suggestions??

Are there any sources (reliable) left that have Temgesic? I have been looking at all the places that have had them in the past but as you said they sure are hard to come by these days. These have gotten me through some tough times and I have a friend that would like to stop taking hydro and would like to try the tems to help him quit. Does anyone know of anyone? TIA

Tem may be available through clickdrugstore but you have to email them at the "sales@" email and ask about it.
Good luck.

I don't have any temgesic .2 mg sources, but would be curious if anyone could post them.
Regarding finding a bupe doctor (a.k.a. subutex, suboxone, temgesic).
http://buprenorphine.samhsa.gov/bwns_locator/index.html
I believe Subutex is pure burprenorphine in pill form ("sub"lingual - dissolves under your tongue) which is very similar to Suboxone which also includes naloxone (sp?) in addition to the bupe to prevent you from injecting it. Here's links with FAQS on bupe in the form of Suboxone or Subutex that I just found in my bookmarks:
http://www.suboxone.com/Suboxone/patients/faqs.htm
http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopage/subutex_suboxone/subutex-qa.htm
=====
I would be very curious if anyone has guidelines for DOSING of bupe/suboxone/subutex/temgesic you should take for different levels of narcotic consumption. (e.g. if you take 100 mg hydro per day for more than a year you start off on 8 mg bupe 3x per day (I made this up). Anyone have any rules of thumb or personal experience to make sure people are on the right level of bupe to control withdrawal (even if they end up with a sub doctor who may be too conservative with prescription amounts).

Thanks Lassie, I went to the site and it said unavailable-having a hard time getting it from the distributors. I wonder why all of a sudden no one has it anymore, it used to be pretty easy to get and stuff that is much potent and dangerous is. Is it considered a painkiller? I know it has opiate properties. And it does work great for withdrawl plus there is no euphoria. It's just much cheaper than going to a sub doctor. I read on one of the sub sites that it was $1500 just for the appointment not including the sub. I wonder if insurance covers it. I suppose it would depend on the plan. Thanks anyway,
