Doing some serious wrangling and thinking with the husband...loves me and understands, but doesn't want me suddenly to go...was actually pretty crushing.....didn't sleep last night which is not new, but gee I did a LOT of thinking.
I want to go.
Cannot come up with concrete place right now...give me (I know this is pushing it...rest of today and some of tomorrow. I should have known when...never mind, it is just hard on a lot of levels right now.
I love my husband but he lives in 'de Nile river' and can be the biggest alligator in it when one tries to coax him out. Just starts snapping over and over until you leave him alone. I am hurt because I saw how ashamed he really is...there are many levels, again, that I am hurt on.
I am making this post because I think other people here might not have responded because of these pressures and more...not letting their parish know, worry about their child's reception at school...
I need to do this. You all need to do this. If one cannot attend, then maybe we can fax our support to the right place, or send e-mail from an anonymous surfing address.
It's kind of a shocker to see your family squirm. But I will get thru it, and so will everyone else here. The question is,
How can we all be effective without TOO MUCH risk to our home situations.
There is risk everytime one leaves the house. There is risk every time we order these days. There is the greatest risk in doing nothing at all.
So...I'd like to be the first in saying...I hate the reaction I get when I find it necessary to tell anyone I have CP.
But I am going to have to get used to it.

OK this is what I have come up with since no one seems to have any suggestions.....Unless you are rolling in the dough the only available rooms left for those dates that are reasonable (from 93.50 & up /night ) is the Travelodge Gateway which is located at 1917 BLADENSBURG ROAD NORTHEAST
WASHINGTON, DC 20002 Reservations tn is 202-832-8600
or you can reserve online at Travelodge Reservations
There is a restaraunt onsite called the New China Inn, my suggestion would be to meet there, we would need to get an apprx head count to figure out if we need to make reservations or not.......obviously this is a chinese restaraunt so my only concerns would be that some may not like this type of food and also any of our migraine sufferers probably can not eat chinese due to the MSG......
Another suggestion :
Big Man's Restaurant
1001 Bladensburg Rd NE, Washington, DC 20002
(202) 388-5115
Mainly Soul Food so there may also be some objections to this style of food
Now my last suggestion would be this one solely on its great reviews:
BELLA ROMA
2530 Connecticut Ave. NW
Washington, DC 20008
202-686-5990
Hours: (Sun-Thurs) 10:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m.; (Fri-Sat) 10:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m.
Bella Roma, in its previous location, was an institution in Cleveland Park. It is now smaller in size, but not in it's 'heart'. The owner, Enzio, worked in the earlier restaurant and is carrying on the tradition. There are tables outside where kids can wiggle, talk, run around and watch fire trucks come and go at the station house a few doors away. Inside the restaurant is cramped in a homey, inviting way. The menu contains the expected Italian fare-pastas, pizza, veal or chicken marsala, veal or eggplant parmigiana, plus hamburgers, and non-Italian sandwiches. Servings are generous and very filling. They also serve ice cream, American and Italian. The cappuccino is a rich way to end a meal - delicioso!
Estimated cost per person for dinner: $17.
It is located about five miles from the hotel mapquest directions:
1: Start out going Northeast on BLADENSBURG RD NE toward NEW YORK AVE NE/US-50 E. 0.1 miles Map
2: Turn LEFT onto NEW YORK AVE NE/US-50 W/US-1 ALT S. 1.8 miles Map
3: Turn RIGHT onto FLORIDA AVE NE. 0.5 miles Map
4: Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto R ST NW. 1.6 miles Map
5: Turn RIGHT onto CONNECTICUT AVE NW. 0.8 miles Map
6: End at 2530 CONNECTICUT AVE NW WASHINGTON DC Map
Total Est. Time: 14 minutes Total Est. Distance: 5.00 miles
So there it is, My suggestion would be to meet on the 18th unless you are planning to attend the Summit in Arlington VA, My main objective is to attend the rally which is the following day at the National Mall, You guys need to give me some feedback here.......We can either early on the 18th say 3:30-4:00pm so that those that are going to the summit will have time to attend (Summit begins at 6:30pm) or we can meet late, I personally would rather early as I am not a night owl..........Give me some feedback here ok......lets get this in motion....

How many DB'ers approximately are going? Did anyone keep track of this?
I'm still not sure if I'm going. Will make a decision within the next 2 days.

Thats the big problem here Yawkaw, originally I thought SkyQueen was kinda taking the reins but I havent heard anything from anyone, SingleSu at one point started making some suggestions but again no one responded.......We need to figure out whats going on, I didnt want to be the one to make the plans beacuse I do not know the area at all......but it came down to someone having to post something so if anyone else has better suggestions or knows the area...please please post .....DC is a strange place you can go from mansions to ghetto in about 2 seconds flat so I would really really appreciate some input here......

You know, I don't think I know of a DB member who lives in DC.
Starchild- maybe you're the closest?
I haven't been there since I was like 12. Is there anything fun to do there? Someone has to have looked into what there is to do at night after the march.

Hey all - and Tragr I'm sorry I kinda dropped the ball on that - time just flies when you're having so much fun in life. NOT! Anyway - unexpectedly and suddenly I'm being forced to go back to work which requires training which is all going to fall in the month of April for me - so unfortunately I will not be going. I sure wish I could, but I will be in there in spirit and applaud those of you who are able to make it. Pretty Day makes some very good points - sometimes it's hard to plan trips away from family, children, work and the stresses of life for chronic pain patients - of course that's the whole idea of the March to begin with.
Best of luck to all that go - hope y'all can get together and have a big time and put some faces with names.

Hi Tray and Others,
I made this post https://drugbuyers.com/freeboard/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=march&Number=152146&Forum=,All_Forums,&Words=&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Main=126564&Search=true&where=&Name=&daterange=&newerval=&newertype=&olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#Post152146 .
It was the thread that said "who is going" which i changed the topic to "who is not going." No one is mad at you if you can't go, we just were basing the headcount on that thread, and now it seems most aren't going. If you all would be so kind as to let us know if you have had a change in plans, we would sincerely appreciate it.
Thanks,

Hey guys,
Sorry on the huge delay, but I guess you still have a day or so right?
I live outside of Balto, but work bout 10 minutes from DC. Check out Georgetown for after the March, its right on the water, lots of bars/restaurants. Nice locale.
Where are you staying?
And you are right, it all depends on that area!!! Which differs as much as right across the street.
PM me if needed, I am going to try to get down there.
- Yaw, try living close, you get to do the "tourist" thing each year. Nice hot weather walking walking walking walking more walking. Though, the museums are darn cool.
