Can someone tell me roughly how Percocet 10/325 compares to Hydro 10/500? I know this is all relative to each individual, but my pain management doctor was/is considering to changing my dosage to Percocets which is a Schedule II, but I have heard some say it is not even as pain relieving as Hydro? Thanks for the input.
Many say oxycodone is 50% stronger than hydrocodone. Percocet 10 mg would be equal to 15 mg of hydro. It seems like some folks get more relief from hydro than percocet in spite of this. I would prefer percocet 5 mg, but take hydro 7.5 mg because of availability.

If I didn't get methadone from my PM doc for my chronic pain and HAD to be limited to a choice between oxy and hydro, I'd take the oxy hands down. Far more effective for me than hydro. It also seems to be slower to develop tolerance.
I don't know though, it's been well over a decade since I WASN'T on a long-acting higher eschelon opiate. But I recently had both Percocet and Vicodin after dental procedures. The Percocet didn't cause the restlessness or rebound headaches THIS time as the hydro did. BUT, Percocet has done both in the past.
Maybe this is just another case of apples and oranges? Or am I just bananas?
