I get migraines too darn much and now kidney stones are back. I get them about every 2-3 years and they usually last months, off and on. I've used hyrdo and some other form of codeine before and that worked well for kidney stones. But I only have a few left.
What would anyone suggest, or the same things? Either way, where is a good and well-priced online site to order from. One that won't take forever. Maybe a week or so at most. And one that won't rip me off.
thank you

Kidney stones you must see a doctor. Hydro is really enough for your kidney stone pain?
I'd suggest morphine, given to you by the doctor who is treating it.
Sorry, sure this isn't what you wanted to hear, my opinion, but I just don't think kidney stone pain can be adequately treated with hydro, nor do I think it should ever be something not looked at by a doctor in a physical exam.

HELLO MIKE, As far as the KIDNEY STONE PAIN -I would see a DOCTOR! But for the MIGRAINES you could try FIORICET (THIS MED. CONTAINS 50MG BUBALBITAL-A STRONG BARBITURATE + TYLENOL 325MG + CAFFEINE) - IT IS A ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCE/BUT NOT A HIGH SCHED. MEDICATION IN MOST STATES.)It is available from PRESCRIPTIONS KEYWEST (YOU NEED TO FILL OUT A MEDICAL INFO. FORM /BUT NO CONSULT OR CONSULT FEE.) Then there are dozens of overseas OP's WHO CARRY THIS MED.AT SOME PRETTY CHEAP PRICES. (THEIR ARE ALSO ALL TYPES OF MIGRAINE MEDS. THAT ARE NOT ADDICTIVE AND THEN THERE ARE CODEINE MEDS FOR MIGRAINES AND SOME PEOPLE SAY SOMA(CARISOPRODOL) WORKS FOR RELIEVING MIGRAINE - I USE FIORICET AND WHEN I GET A REALLY BAD MIGRAINE I USE STADOL NS (NASAL SPRAY PAIN-KILLER YOU CAN GET FROM U.S. OP'S WITH PROPER MEDICAL RECORDS ,ETC... - BUT STADOL IS VERY EXPENSIVE THROUGH U.S. OP's) I have used HYDRO when I was out of my STADOL & FIORICET, and it worked pretty good! Well I hope the info. helped? You can PM me if you need some more info. on MIGRAINE MEDS & SOURCES? CHEESE

How interesting that you mentioned these 2 conditions being a concurrent problem. Several years ago I had the same issue. Migraines and kidney stones. In my experience, only in-hospital treatment and IM or IV Demerol or morphine was sufficient to treat my stones (and same was very effective for migraines.)
It is extremely important that you seek medical attention for the stones. I ended up with sepsis (infection in the blood) after one episode with stones. But in all fairness, I regularly ended up with pyelonephritis (kidney infection) concurrent with my stones (or shortly thereafter.) Sepsis can cause DEATH if untreated.
I've been stone-free and relatively migraine free since my hysterectomy 8 years ago. I'm not sure if there was a connection (I had endo and tumors) or if it was coincidental, but I'm so thankful to not have had to deal with stone pain in many years.

Definitely seek treatment for kidney stones. I had to have part of my right kidney removed due to them. Lithotripsy is a very non invasive way to get rid of them and you will only have a couple days of discomfort. The stones get pulverized to gravel with sound waves making them easier to pass. I've had it 4 times. My stones were embedded in "pockets" in my kidney. After the litho, the gravel wouldn't come out which was the need for my subsequent surgery. Alot of people have stones and don't even know it. It's when they start to move or cause infection that you feel the pain. They can move to the point where they block your ureter tubes if they are large enough and can result in some serious damage. They are really nothing to fool around with. Good luck.

I have been reading a lot lately on the research recently done in Michigan and Texas concerning drinking Tart Cherry Juice everyday to help with inflamation and to help with developing kidney stones. I know this is NOT helpful for the pain upon having one or passing one. Sometimes preventive alternatives do work and I thought I'd mention this. It has to be TART and 2 Tablespoons of concentrated everyday. I found it at the local health food store and it was $$$$. I did find it on several websites where you can order it concentrated and mix it. I have given this info to my son in law, he has a lot of problems with kidney stones and passing one appears to be worse than childbirth! Like I said, it may help with prevention, ya never know!

I had kidney stones 2 weeks after giving birth, and trust me, the pain was WORSE than LABOR!! I ended up in the ER. Some women get these during pregnancy only, and that's the only time I have had them. Anyway, the doc referred me to a Urologist who prescribed me Percocet until they passed, which did not happen until I went in for surgery a month later and they then found out they had passed. I had 5 of them, large, but the Percocet sure helped the pain. I didn't know I passed them because the pain med helped so much! Boy I don't wish that pain on ANYONE!!
By the way, I got them during pregnancy because of the amount of Tums I was taking due to heartburn, one of the many discomforts of pregnancy. I learned to stay away from the Tums the next time.

Wow! Thank you all for the replies, thank you very much.
Long story, but basically I have seen a doc the last 3 times. Each time they did an x-ray, blood tests and told me to drink lots of water only and prescribed something like hydro or tylonel 3. It was generic, something like 40-50mb of codeine. I think.
I have no insurance now and doc and x-rays are expensive. Kidney stones run in the family. My brother had his gaul bladder removed because he was getting so many. At this point I am still drinking lots of water, staying away from calcium things and just need some pain pills.
Me, I seem to produce them in spurts. The doc told me sometimes the smaller ones cause the most pain, depending where they are. And the pain is, as you know, very very bad. Most of mine have been small, but the large ones, when passing, my gawd in heaven...aaaaahhhhhh!!!
The only thing that hurt as bad or 'maybe' worse was when I broke my little toe, and had ulcers. I've never had one stuck, they all have passed, eventually.
So can anyone suggest a good-dependable and low cost place where pain medication can be purchased? I guess codeine, Percocet, or something that works as good. Without prescription. thanks
And thanks again for all the ideas and thoughts.
btw, partymom, I also eat tums like they are going out of style. I have acid attacks daily, what else can we take? I take 1-3 a day.

You won't find anything stronger than hydrocodone online through an OP. Talk about expensive...a couple hundred dollars for a consult and meds (and you will need medical records, too...) You'd be better off going to the ER (they can't turn you away if you can't afford to pay--especially for a true case of kindey stones.)
Your only other option would be IOPs and that would take weeks to get the meds. And by then the stone will have already passed.
Again, if you are really passing stones and are in the kind of pain that accompanies that, there IS no recourse but to go to an ER or Urgent Care facility. I couldn't have made it through ONE NIGHT without pain meds when I had mine, much less long enough to order something online.

I get terrible migraines due to a car accident that damaged my C5/C6 disk. I take Imitrex as soon as I feel it coming on. But they are insanely expensive: 9 pills for approx. $300! Maxalt is another good migraine drug. Just tried it recently for the first time, worked great. If I take a migraine pill as soon as I feel it coming on, with a Vicodin, that usually does the trick.
Good luck to you. Migraine pain is horrible and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
