ive got a freind (no not me ha!ha!)whos haveing terrible pain with his teeth, just had 2 pulled fri. but needs all of them removed hes only 22 yrs old but whatever this rotten
teeth disease is called runs in his family/
problem is he has no insurance and cant afford to have the needed dental work done except for a little at a time//
, so he just suffers until next time hes got the money to have more work done!! doc only gives him 10-10s and thats only if hes had teeth removed, meanwhile he suffers and waits!!does anyone know of an op preferably a reliable one
who takes dental records to rx pain meds//
he also needs a op for zanax, his mother died of brain cancer 2 yrs ago and its really messed with his whole life
not to mention his nerves, hes also got records for the
anxiety problem,of course once again our local doctor will
only rx .50's and he needs more than that//
anyway i told him id ask the questions and see what kind of
suggestions he'll get//
ive told him of my op and he just couldnt beleive getting meds legally online was possible!! i said yes it is unless
you keep getting meds from diff. sourses or buying them off the street, he needs help, one look at his frount teeth would convince you, ouch!!it not only looks aweful but hurts him like crazy most all the time!!!
i hate to see this kid(to me) hurting and afraid to smile!
anyone think hes got a chance with those records???
thanks gage

It is possible. I think that if he has plenty of records to document the pain and conditions, he should be fine, but t be on the safe side, he could always call first and speak with Kathey at YOD. She is really good about handeling issues. This would help him settle it all out before any money is spent.

Ugh, YOD...
I emailed these people several times over a week period and never once got a responce from them. Hence, I decided to take my business elsewhere...

Magus,
I wonder if you contacted them during a bad week. Their reputation among posters here, especially that of Kathy, has been excellent.
I've attempted to contact them several times for information or with specific questions about a number of topics, and they have always responded very quickly and helpfully.

I have never e-mailed them, as I always just fax my info in and have never needed to email them. If I ever need to contact them, I just called. When did you try to do this? They are always working even after hours and around holidays.
I suggested that he try them because I have used them through 3 consults and Kathey is great at handeling concerns before the consult and even going over records beforehand in order to let you know if they are thorough enough.

This is a good question that I, too, have wondered about often. Gum disease runs in my family, and even though my mother had beautiful teeth, she had to have all of hers removed at age 31. I have the same problems, but like the OP stated, I have no insurance and have to have the work done a tooth at a time, when it becomes unbearable. On my last visit, in December, my dentist told me that it was time to get them all removed and go for full false teeth. When I have these rabid absesses, the antibiotics aren't working anymore. It would be interesting to find out if these records, of which I have scores, would suffice for an OP, until such time I manage to save the money to have them all done once and for all.

Hello,
Somewhere on here there is info on members receiving meds due to "TMJ",but sounds like the above posts are referring to peridontal disease, which i have, and definately would be a legitimate cause. The way i see it,if it's painful, and it's a part of your body, you definately deserve a consult.I also believe "YOD,etc"would tell you the same.
Actually, above posters would be in less of the gray are,"even more"legitimate using op's,for the simple fact, there are no chronic dental clinics. No dentist would keep a patient on constant meds.So where do we turn?Dentists simply want to (in the case of peridontal disease)pull all remaining teeth, this is not always the best solution.
This may be inevitable, but it's sorta cosmetic in a sense, and it's up to the patient.Personally,i'm keeping mine until they fall out in my lap!!I would say i've got another 10 years left with them, seems mid-30's is the round-about age, seeing this is hereditary, and grandpa and father lost theirs then.My teeth are pearly whites, just don't have enough gum to keep them permanently in-tact.
P.S. I am not a dentist,it just sounded similar to my disease, maybe it's not.Though more significantly, don't question legitimacy anymore,IF YOU ARE IN PAIN RATHER IT BE YOUR BIG TOE OR LOWER CUSPIDS,GET RELIEF!!You have nothing to worry about, just get records, and get medicated. After all, this is America ,for whatever that's worth.
Let us know how it goes with both of you!!
best of luck!!

Ironically, I was just reading on another board how the patient needed hydro for dental problems sooo I'm assuming that those are the records that she/he sent to the OP. Only problem was, she didn't mention which OP. Also, I have to agree with other posters, pain is pain regardless of what part of the body. I would only do my research ie. email or call the OP's before setting up consult as you wouldn't want to pay for consult only to be denied. Hope this helps.

Hi all,
It's my 1st time posting...I've been a lurking member for a year or so. (please bear with me)
This thread really hit me due to the same problem. I know how it is to have hereditary gum disease, multiple abcesses, and no insurance due to divorce. And the thing is that I've always taken *excellent* care of my teeth. This kind of pain is excruciating..and when you're forced to do it "one tooth at a time" if you have no money, it makes your life nearly unbearable.
I do hope the poster can get an OP to help. Dentists, the majority of the time, will only give you a few tylenol #3 w/codiene, & that doesn't begin to touch the pain.
Nice to meet everyone,

Gage-
Not any advice to offer, just wanted to wish you good luck. Tooth pain is some of the worst out there.....I know all too well! And like the above poster said, Tylenol #3 doesn't do anything (that's what my dentist likes to give out too!).

Gage~
Good question. The only problem I can see is this- most doctors will not prescribe for dental pain, plain and simple. I've known many patients, for example, who have had serious issues with dental pain, have gone to the ER for help, (on weekends, when most dental offices are closed), and have been denied any kind of treatment and/or prescription for the pain, due to the fact that the doctors are just that- doctors, not dentists.
I agree with the other posters here- give it a shot with the dental records- if your friend is denied meds, there is no consult fee charged.
JMO,

Gage,
Records from a dentist are fine. I've used them for my TMJ and they work.
I do owe you a PM/email or something, will get back to you later today.

Just FYI, I haven't had any problems with getting strong pain meds like Percocet 10 mg for dental pain in the ER on weekends. I have had an abcessed tooth before and the dentist only gave me 5 mg hydro that wasn't cutting it, so I took the bottle and went to the ER and had a very understanding doctor who immediately helped me. As a matter of fact, I have had to call my dentist after hours a few times, for myself and my son, and they have had to send us to the ER for pain. Also, I am being treated by an OP for TMJ pain. You shouldn't have a problem, pain is pain. Good luck!
