Has anyone ever gotten a major headache from taking norco or any hydrocodone products? I noticed that sometimes I get major headaches from taking my norco, I suffer from migraines and endo so getting a headache is not what I am looking for I am looking to get rid of the headache.
Thanks

I have heard that Norco(any hydrocodone) can cause like a rebound headache but I don't see any proof of that as a chronic migraine sufferer who takes Norco every day for headaches!! But it might be something to look into!!

One of the main reasons I started taking hydro, was to combat my chronic daily headaches.. I was having major dull like headaches (not migraines) every day for over 1 1/2 years.. It was almost too much to deal with. I've tried every known medication to combat these and nothing ever worked. When I started taking hydro at first it helped, but my mg's per day was so small that I did in fact get rebound headaches. Not that I really wanted to, but taking hydro every day has helped decrease my headaches over 80%!.. I have other things that the hydro is used for too, but it took having to use the medication on a regular basis, to finally stop the headaches. Anyway, I don't know what would be right for you, since I don't know if headaches are your main reason for taking the medication. It's a risky thing to start taking hydro everyday, so make sure it really is helping your situation and not being counter productive.
Good luck

When I first started taking Hydro, I would get a headache every time (I do not suffer from any type of headache problem). But this passed over time. If I take an extra pill, the headache comes back. It's a common side effect that should go away.
Good luck.

Thanks for all who respoonded, I get migraines and also have endo, I only take the norco for the migraines if the cold packs and heating pad and motrin 800mg does not work, so i don't take it every day. I use it also for my endo when that time of the month comes and a couple of days before and after and in between my cycle, I get terrible pelvic pain and lower back pain. Pain sucks!!
I also noticed that the norco 7.5 which is what I am taking now is much stronger then the vicodin ES I was taking, and I wonder why. The norco works better for me, but the only thing I don't like about it, is that it makes me feel a little weird, does this sound familiar.

I get migraines from narcs (IV morphine while in hospital, Tylenol-4 on fairly regular basis for Crohn's), but get relief with Fioricet or Fiorinal (plain) if the migraines are classic. If they are cluster headaches, I absolutely have to use one of the triptans (Imitrex, Maxalt, Zomig). Doctors began warning about rebound headaches from use of Fiorinal in the early 90s, but I've gone long periods of time without meds at all, and the frequency and severity of the headaches never lessens. In fact, throughout my life, they have gotten only worse and more frequent. ::sigh::

Yes I've heard of a few people saying the norco's make them feel a bit edgy and sometimes dizzy.. Is this what you mean by wierd?? Anyway, in my experience with hydro, brand names greatly effect the potency of a pill. For instance, I feel that the watson blue 10/500 are total garbage. I've never had any pain relief from them and all they did was give me a headache and make my stomach hurt. On the other hand, I've had good experiences with the 7.5 watson brand, although the apap content is a bit too high. Norco's (brand name) give good pain relief, but they seem to have some sort of filler that makes me extra tired. The watson (generic norco brand) seem to work the best, but they do tend to give headaches from time to time.. I've never had the Malenkrots (sp), but from reading other board memeber's messages, they seem to either give stomach aches or are twice as strong. Anyway, I think it varies from person to person, but never have a doubt that the medication you recive may be causing different side effect that vary from brand to brand. Anyway, a bit off topic, but ohh well. lol
