Hope all this publicity doesn't result in a targeted crackdown of OP's by the DEA.

Ops have been getting WAY to much publicity lately, which will call to the attention of the DEA with S**cks!!!!!!!!!!
I know this has happened before, and the ops always bounce back, but I'm scared it's just a matter of time before it all crashes down around us. I pray to God that doesn't happen. I have no insurance, Dr's visits cost way too much money and I know what it is I need it treat myself. The Goverment should respect the fact that as adults we can responsibly treat ourselves when we need to. I just needed to vent...............thanks for "listening"

I sent Mr. Dorschner an email to let him know there is another side to this story and that perhaps he could write a follow up that is a little less slanted.

It will. The mass hysteria is growing, and the press is salivating over drug scare stories, thanks to our reactionary friend Rush. It is sickening, and the press refuse to see the other side of the story. All it is to these people is an excuse to demonize something.

We're willingly going to sit back and watch it all happen. The end result is that we will have no choice, and will have to depend on the compassionate nature of our moralizing war-on-drugs-happy law enforcers, I mean doctors, to help us out of pain.

As per usual, it is us, the patients, the people, who have done nothing morally wrong, and who suffer, who are going to pay the price for all this madness. And hypocrite Rush, he had the chance to turn this thing into something positive for pain sufferers, but instead he chose to denounce and blame the drugs. Idiot.

I surfed over to legalrxstore.com, one of the pharmacies mentioned in the article. If the reporter read what he was getting, he might have found out why s/he is a complete idiot.

Here's a quote from the site (European) explaining what Vicodin is, and what their substitution is. I think most of us here know that hydrocodone is six to ten times stronger than an equal amount on codeine...

Quote:

In the US many trademarks exist as Vicodin, Lortab, Percocet, Fiorinal, Lorcet and Norco which are all different combinations of paracetamol with codeine or its twin-sister hydrocodone. To make things complicated the exact strength of these brands is often veiled in a phantasy name and the active substances are called by different (non scientific) names as acetaminophen for paracetamol or use hydrocodone instead of codeine. As the action of both is similar the substitution of codeine by hydrocodone is irrational. All these brands are prescription only and come at a high price. If you want to know what you get, order our generic paracetamol/codeine

What complete and utter bullshirt..The reporter who fell for this Best if kept off the board, and ordered codeine is completely braindead. Funny, really, if it weren't all so utterly tragic and damaging..

The reporter made it sound like this doctor doesn't exist in the first few paragraphs of his article, setting the tone of a fraudulent site faking a doctor's name and writing scripts. Geez... It took me about 2 minutes on the internet to find the guy with 95% certainty.

Florida's department of health link:
http://ww2.doh.state.fl.us/mqaservices/

Click Lookup Licensee
Last Name: Rodriguez, first name: Felix

I see a Felix Alejandro Rodriguez Medical Doctor with FL medical License #ME77127 out of Pembroke Pines, FL (Same little city as Clinical Solutions Pharmacy - what a coincidence?).

Perhaps he added the Schmidt when he got married or something.

I also saw a Felix Rodriguez-Schmidt (license ACN185) listed as a "Medical Doctor Area Critical Need).

Clicking the license # takes you to more info. including an address, which can be used to get a phone number. In the top right corner of this page is a "Link to Practitioner Profile" where you can get more addresses, phone numbers, other cities he practices in, his education background, etc. etc. to make some more calls to find out more info.

Remember, this is just dumb little me spending 2 minutes clicking around the internet. Perhaps the crack journalist forgot to try the hyphen in his name, or more likely didn't know of this site. Great work Miami Herald - bozos.

I'm more concerned about getting arrested and going to jail. Does anyone think that might happen?

Grandma - to put it simply, NO - you do not have much to worry about...... We as patients are doing nothing wrong (as long as you are putting factual information on your medical history forms when you sign up with a consultation service)

It is the businesses practices of some of these OP's that are unders scrutiny. We as patients are simply taking advantage of something that is very beneficial for those of us that are not being treated properly by our local physicians. We are receving legit and legal prescriptions from licensed doctors who use their own judgement on whether we should be 'eligibile' for receiving the requested medications or not.

I would not worry at all about you getting in any kind of trouble personally. What we should be worried about, is whether these doctors and pharmacies are following the laws put in place well enough to continue doing what they are doing. We, however, are simply patients. We are using services that are very helpful for those of us without insurance, that are being under-medicated for our conditions or not being medicated at ALL in some situations.

I am more worried about how hard these doctors and pharmacies and the whole OP world in general is being scrutinized. You, however, as a patient, do not have much to fear (other than losing OP's, obviously)
