Not sure what to do - need help
      #103387 - 09/27/03 11:51 PM

Hi Folks,

This is my first post here, am also new to this whole OP thing. I'm not sure if I may have messed up or not due to trying to rush things.

I signed onto this board 3 days ago and spent several hours browsing messages. I have been in quite a lot of pain for most of the past week and was anxious to find a quick source for meds. Since I don't have the necessary current records yet, I focused on sites that don't require them upfront, or at all, and thought that the medpharmrx source sounded reliable from the reports I saw here. I went ahead and filled out their onsite form, which took me some time to do, but when I hit the submit button I got a page with a line of code indicating some kind of error. Since it was so late - and I still had to get up for work in the morning, I closed down and figured I'd try again later, despite my desire to get things expedited asap. When I went to check in the morning, it seemed my order had gone through after all, as I got an order status page when I logged in at the site. Went to work anticipating a phone call, but none ever came. When I got home that night (this was Thursday), I couldn't access the website at all, and there were posts on the board from folks wondering if they'd closed down! Now I REALLY didn't know what to do! Friday morning I tried again, and they were still unavailable. I checked my cc account online and didn't see any authorizations for the order, so I went off to work clueless and still in pain. Home from work and I found the site was back up, my order was still there and was still "processing", which is where I'm at.

Based on further readings on the message board Thursday night, I finally forced myself to call and make an appt with the HMO doc for a check-up with blood tests. Shockingly, they had an opening first thing Monday morning, so I should finally have some up-to-date records soon, but I'm in a quandry on what to do about this order. I've thought about placing an order with another op, but what if this one does end up coming through in the meantime? How long should I wait to find out? I tried sending an email inquiry to their customer service addy, but it came bouncing back which hasn't made me feel very confident about this.

I really need to get some meds soon - my HMO is notorious for refusing to offer anything that is effective, and asking directly for what I need may result in getting labelled one of those nasty descriptions rather than a script in hand, had lots of experience with this - but I really don't know what to do next. Anyone have any ideas what I should do?

Pain sucks, the desperation can really make it hard to think clearly, and I feel like I might have messed up right out of the starting gate!

TIA

Personally I would use a OP with records, your visit monday fulfills the requirements for most OPs such as Norcoww, AAAMWW. Some of those other OPs are working in a grey area that I think is now being more defined~

That's what I intend to do, but I don't know if I should wait to find out if this one went through first or not. I don't want to end up with two packages showing up at my door. On the other hand, I don't want to have to wait too long, either. Considering the cost, I didn't want to end up paying that much, even if I did end up with a healthy supply. I only want as much as I need and reorder later when necessary so I don't put myself in the poorhouse in the process!

Has anyone got a phone number where these folks are reachable? I tried emailing their support addy but it was returned as undeliverable, which didn't lift my level of confidence, that's for sure.

Records and a very reputable OP . . . never an IOP = very solid care, quality consult and timely turn-around. Stay away from non-record requiring. Good luck.

CANCEL the order and go to NWW or AAAMWW as mentioned above. Some people say NWW doesnt require records, and AAAMWW doesnt request them until the 1st refilll is due. Therefore you can receive your meds and then send in the paper work you receive from the appt. you had today before ordering a refill, but I really dont think NWW asks for them.
You said this other place had not charged your card yet, so get with one of these other OPs we mentioned above and get your meds by Wed.
If they do try to charge your card, do a charge back and tell them you canceled the order.
You shouldnt have any problems.
Good Luck!!!

Since your HMO is getting you in , I would cancell the order. This way you have records and can use a better OP that is cheaper - you may have to wait a few extra days , but it will be worth it in the end - odds are better you will receive your medication

I agree with the rest. Since they haven't charged you yet, we have no reason to beleive they would at this point. Can you call and ask your bank to NOT approve any charges from these people? Ask around and see how exactly it gets billed to you...The name of the compmany vs ibill.com, etc.
Hopfully your dr will give you a bit of relief while waiting for a consult from somewhere else.
I LOVE YOD(your online dr). I hear their record requirements are harsh but email them and ask if what you have will do. It is really worth your time and effort. They will tell you yes or no. They aren't into playing games with people at all!
The other suggestions were excellent too. Narrow your readings to those places now.
Forget the first place. I think you got lost in the crash, plus you will be so much better off with a real OP>

I have ordered Hydro from meds123, tropicalrx, buymeds.com and AAAmeds, all without any Dr. Records. The site will say you need them but they never ask and I usually get delivery next day. Just fill in the questions and pull out the plastic....off ya go!

Hi, I was wondering if you have received the info you inquired about as to contacting Medpharmrx? Has your order status changed to shipping or do you still need a way to contact them, any indication it has or will ship? Please update if possible. Thanx, SOC

Hi folks, thanks for all your responses. Here's my update:

As of tonight, status on the order I placed with medpharmrx remains unchanged. Someone was kind enough to pm a phone number for them (I assume), but it has been busy. I will continue to try it until I eventually manage to get through to somebody. They haven't charged my card, but that doesn't mean they won't in the future (I'm too new to this to just trust them). Besides that, I am concerned because my info appears to be displaying on an unsecured page, and I would like it removed completely.

I had my appt Mon w/ the HMO doc, and as usual, it was a joke, but I got the needed papers in hand before walking out the door. Spent Mon night browsing the free and vip boards, and finally decided to go with YOD, so I got the forms from their website. Had to wait till I got to work Tue to print them out as my home printer is on the fritz. Got everything filled out and faxed all required paperwork, then waited (nervously) for some acknowledgement. When I hadn't heard anything by mid-afternoon, I called them and spoke with a very nice lady on the phone - yes, they'd received my papers, but they weren't sure they got my email address right, which they didn't (good thing I called!). She immediately set me up with my consult appt, which was this morning. I called at the appointed time and spoke with the doc, who placed a script to the pharmacy for me for 90 10/500's, they are supposed to come early tomorrow morning, per my request.

I have to say, I am soooo glad I went this route! I feel much better dealing with a reputable company, and my relief should be on it's way. I don't know what to say about the other place, but from my own experience, I sure wouldn't be recommending them anytime soon.

I will update to the appropriate thread once my package arrives. So far, I am highly satisfied with the service I got from YOD.

Getting the vip membership also gets a from me - my consult only cost $80 thanks to the discount!
