YOD Question about Records & Meds
      #103206 - 09/27/03 04:24 AM

I posed this same question as a response to another member in another Topic (Topic name - www.valueprescribe.com). I finally realized that it would probably make more sense to go here. Here goes...............

I am going to go to a local walk in clinic (Saturday if I receive my needed answers) and be seen for migraines and carpal tunnel pain. My past experiences with these "walk-in emergency rooms" are that it is "hit or miss" if they even prescribe something like tylenol 3 (qty 20 or so). I've had some just give me a script for 800mg of motrin before.

My question is that from my previous history and knowledge, I know that I prefer LT 10-500's or Vic 7.5 750's. I thought I read somewhere that YOD wants to see something that you have been prescribed a particular medication previously before they will fill a script for the requested meds. Is that necessarily true or can I (or should I) request the medication I want during the consult with YOD. I'm hoping that the one or two page summary information that I get from the walk in clinic will suffice for records.

Sorry, but I'm getting nervous and don't want to throw away a Benjamin Franklin at the walkin clinic and not have what i need for YOD and I also don't want to go to the walkin clinic if this will be a "Pie in the Sky" shot in the dark. Most importantly, I'm sick and tired of being yanked and cranked by buymeds and tropical and I need to find a "real" op.

Thank you all for the very much need help. Any pointers or guidance would be great - (as it always is here on DB)

I think you will be fine with the walk-in records.
I didn't send YOD anything stating I had used any type of med before. Tell the YOD Doc what works for you.Don't worry.

Tip: Just make sure you Have taken the med before so there are no nasty, and potentially dangerous, surprises from taking the med.
Good Luck,
J.

Jeremiah is correct. Just the basics is all you should need stating that you did go to the doctor. Good luck and let us know how it goes. EMJ

On the first or second page of the questionnaire, there's a box for previously taken meds, you could fill out the hydrocodone there. Not sure that matters compared to the consult. Send in your records, and then tell the doctor that hydrocodone is what worked best for you. It'll be just fine, don't worry.
